Nixon’s ‘Watergate’ scandal was mere sand-lot behavior by comparison.
Yes, from late last month, but something that should still send shivers down everyone’s spines on just what an unleashed, arrogant and unchecked administration is capable of doing.
Obama Planted Classified Documents On Reporter’s Computer, Tried To Set Her Up
By Robert Gehl, October 28, 2014.
The Obama Administration planted classified documents on journalist Sharyl Attkisson’s computer in an attempt to set her up in case her investigations went too far.
Back in June 2013, an independent analysis of Attkisson’s computers commissioned by CBS News found rampant bugging and hacking of the investigative reporter’s computers. The malicious code was attempting to extract data from her computer. It was clear at the time it was a U.S. Government attempt to get to her data.
Now with the release of her new book, the second shoe has dropped. In “Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama’s Washington,” Atkkisson reveals she had a source arrange to have her laptop checked. What the source – a government official – found was shocking, even by Watergate standards.
Using spyware that’s unique to federal spy agencies, the government planted three classified documents inside her laptop. The source told her the documents were were “buried deep in your operating system. In a place that, unless you’re some kind of computer whiz specialist, you wouldn’t even know exists.”
“They probably planted them to be able to accuse you of having classified documents if they ever needed to do that at some point,” the source told her.
In addition, the proprietary spyware unique to national spy agencies accessed Attkisson’s skype account, activated the audio on her computer heavily, monitored her computer keystrokes, accessed her e-mails and passwords to her financial accounts.
“This is outrageous. Worse than anything Nixon ever did. I wouldn’t have believed something like this could happen in the United States of America,” Attkisson quotes the source saying.
