Stunts like this do not win the hearts and minds of the people we are trying to wake up and warn, about their civil liberties being under attack by fundamentalist Islam (Islam 101). There will be readers who disagree with me about this, but I look to the bigger picture, the sharia, inflicting as much possible negativity on that which is Islam’s biggest achilles heel.
Ensuring that sharia becomes a political football in future debates by politicians and being extremely articulate in demonstrating how it is an anti-liberal legal system alien to our western values and rule of law, is the goal. Remember, Islam is sharia, and sharia is Islam for the fundamentalist Muslim, they’re inseparable.
NOTE: The ethnic slurs shouted by the now convict, was just one more step too far.
If we knew where he served, and what his experiences have been, his actions might be better understood.
The amazing thing, however, is that there is not more of this behaviour.
But I can’t condemn him; I haven’t walked in his shoes.
