DUBAI ISLANDS SINKING FAST AS INVESTORS SEE THEIR INVESTMENTS FADE INTO THE SEA……..

Anti-Semitic Dubai scams Western investors who, in the Tundra Tabloids’ opinion, deserve to be scammed for investing into a crooked, Jew hating regime like Dubai. This UAE state doesn’t have a rule of law, but an arbitrary one, which suits the loons that want to have a fake island of their own in the Persian Gulf. Tough luck suckers. KGS

The World is sinking: Dubai islands ‘falling into the sea’

The islands were intended as the ultimate luxury possession, even for Dubai.

But the World, the ambitiously-constructed archipelago of islands shaped like the countries of the globe, is sinking back into the sea, according to evidence cited before a property tribunal.

Developed with tailor-made hotel complexes and luxury villas, and sold to millionaires, the islands, off the coast of Dubai, are accessible by yacht or motor boat.

But now the islands’ sands are eroding and the navigational channels between them are silting up, the British lawyer for a company bringing a case against the state-run developer, Nakheel, has told judges.

“The islands are gradually falling back into the sea,” Richard Wilmot-Smith QC, for Penguin Marine, said. The evidence showed “erosion and deterioration of The World islands”, he added.

With all but one of the islands still uninhabited – Greenland – and that one a showpiece owned by the ruler of Dubai, most of the development plans have been brought to a crashing halt by the financial crisis.

  1. I’m not really surprised at this news really. I worked and lived in Saudi Arabia for four years, and quite often visited neighbouring Middle east countries. On one occasion I had breakfast with a fellow expat in my hotel in Bahrain. I didn’t know the guy, but we both recognized each other as fellow expats and decided to sit together. In our usual chit-chat I discovered that he worked as a top engineering consultant for the islands mentioned in this article. He told me then that the property developers in Dubai had been told NOT to start any construction on the islands for a year at least, as the engineers had to revisit the sites and use special heavy equipment to “re-tamp” and strengthen the artificial islands. This advice was completely ignored by the Government and the property developers, and they started construction of the luxury condos and so on immediately they thought the islands were ready. So, it’s little surprise to me about the properties sinking back into the sea…. Allah Ahkubar! God is great… but not great enough to stop the idiocy and generic retardation of the Middle east dummies.

  2. These hundreds of little islands are doomed. They just don’t have the mass to withstand erosion, even with recurrent replenishment. The good thing is all that oil money is flushed into the persian gulf and not funding jihad.

    1. The thing is, it’s western dough that’s financed the project.
