Islamic tomfoolery Mega-Clock Saudi Arabia

SUPPORTERS OF MECCA CLOCK CLAIM NO MAGNETISM IN CITY…….

Oh yeah, then what keeps these pin heads
spinning around the smooch stone?

The only thing they get wrong is comparing traditional Christian thought towards science with that of knumbskull Muslim thinking towards the world around themselves. No comaprison. KGS

Muslims in Saudi Arabia are building a giant clock that resembles Big Ben, but is over six times larger. They want to replace Greenwich Mean Time with Mecca Time as the world standard.
As Mohammed al-Arkubi, manager of one of the hotels in the complex, put it: “Putting Mecca time in the face of Greenwich Mean Time. This is the goal.”
This is a beautiful example of cargo cult science. Big Ben has nothing to do with establishing GMT — it’s just a big clock in London. GMT is entirely about establishing a uniform standard reference time. It was set rather arbitrarily to the time at an observatory in England, because England was the leading maritime nation at the time and used solar observations relative to Greenwich to determine the longitude of ships at sea. Greenwich time has also been replaced since then by Coordinated Universal Time, which is based on measurements of a world-wide network of atomic clocks, which turn out to be more reliable than figuring out the position of the sun.
It’s an arbitrary standard, get it? Building a giant clock in the desert will not suddenly attract time to line up with it. Although it does sound like a perfectly kitschy and annoying clock, with bright lights that can be seen 18 miles away that will flash and blink in colors to let people know it is time to pray. I suspect they’re also trying to standardize the web back to 1995 html, too.
And of course there is more. There is a whole lot of freakish cargo cult science going on down there.
According to Yusuf al-Qaradawi, an Egyptian cleric known around the Muslim world for his popular television show “Sharia and Life”, Mecca has a greater claim to being the prime meridian because it is “in perfect alignment with the magnetic north.”
This claim that the holy city is a “zero magnetism zone” has won support from some Arab scientists like Abdel-Baset al-Sayyed of the Egyptian National Research Centre who says that there is no magnetic force in Mecca.
“That’s why if someone travels to Mecca or lives there, he lives longer, is healthier and is less affected by the earth’s gravity,” he said. “You get charged with energy.”

  1. The magnetic pole is located in Northern Canada. It is NOT a fixed point in space, but wanders in space and these variations are tracked by the Geolgical Survey of Canada. Over geological time it has flipped and reversed polarity and wandered all over the place as shown by paleomagnetic studies.

Obviously these jokers are oblivious to the work of Einstein or Newton. But then, after all, one is a Jew, the other a Christian

  2. Actually, I think it's an ongoing problem with Arabs and Muzzies, in general. Look at the highest hotel they built in Dubai, and other "highest and biggest" edifices. It has been long known and verified by western psychologists that people who build the "highest" or "biggest" things suffer from lack of confidence and self-esteem – the things they build tend to compensate for that lack. It's also interesting to note that western psychology has established that peoples (men) building the highest "spiky" tower or hotel are trying to show that they have the biggest phallus in the world – another form of compensation for feeling small. It's all so funny. This was a well-written article, and shows just how stupid and backwards the muslim mentality is.

  3. Clueless Muslims. GMT is just a set standard starting point for quantifying a 24 hour day. Anything that really needs accurate time is based on atomic activity of elements. It is so meaningless. So instead of EST which is about 6 hours after GMT, we will have what? Mecca +12 time? Great I dont have to get up until 2 pm to go to work! But I have to work til midnite. Beyond stupid..

  4. Great comments guys, no doubt the supporters of the Mecca lecca clock stick fingers in their ears and close their eyes to such obvious observations as you both put forward.

Let em build it, sink as much money possible in it, let it sit their in the desert sun, as a symbol of the money not used for the jihad.

  5. It's awesome post! Actually i don't know about this. After read this and finding some interesting posts about that. Here all comments are also nice. Thanks for sharing this very useful info with us.

  6. Why not humans chill and respect each other's religion. Peace. May God bless all of you.

  7. Wow the amount of HATRED, IGNORANCE, and lack of RESPECT FOR OTHERS is really quite clear in these superfluous comments surprises me that we still have such ignorant, hateful, and otherwise illiterate people on here. People please, at least, EDUCATE yourselves about other people's thoughts, cultures, and religions. Ignorant comments like these only show how ignorant you guys are. So sad.

  8. Eh.. to the last anonymous commenter, we know all we need to know about Islam. What you see as hatred, ignorance and lack of respect, is just honesty and the willingness to speak the truth.

As for illiteracy, I think that's predominately a Middle East problem.
