Man rapes two women in a couple of weeks and groped several passers-by in Tampere – five-year sentence
The man raped two victims and touched several unknown persons in public places while still on probation from a previous verdict. There was only two weeks between the rapes. The man was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment by a decision of the Pirkanmaa District Court.
The Pirkanmaa District Court has given Morteza Bajat, born in 1992, a five-year prison sentence for three counts of sexual harassment, sexual abuse of a child, rape and aggravated rape.
The crimes took place in Tampere and Ylöjärvi for five months during the spring and summer of 2019. There were only two weeks between the rapes.
Judgment was given on Friday 20 December. He was last sentenced in January 2019 to 5 months’ imprisonment for child sexual abuse.
One of the victims was a man tekoaikaan only 15 years old. At the time of the act, a 26-year-old man, for example, sent messages suggesting sex to a child and touching the child with clothes.
Several victims
It appears from the District Court’s judgment that the man touched several passers-by in Tampere, for example, at a shop and at a bite. In June, he was grasping the bottom of one of the victims walking on the street.
The man also raped a young woman sitting at night on the steps leading up to Pyynik’s ridge in Tampere. The man first suggested sex to the victim. When the victim refused, the man followed him and overthrew the woman. Bajat pulled the woman’s skirt off the front and pushed her finger into the woman’s anus. The woman escaped to a taxi that passed by.
The District Court considered it a case of gross rape in which the man raped a woman with violence in Tampere.
