YOUNG DUTCH JEWISH PROFESSIONALS CALL FOR HELP IN BOYCOTTING THOSE FIRMS WHO BOYCOTT ISRAEL……..

Boycotting Israel is an immoral act, whether it’s based on complete ignorance or malevolent intent. It’s also an act of cowardice, choosing the softer of targets because it’s believed (wrongly) that it’s unable to fight back. It’s high time that the supporters of Israel do to the boycotters what the nascent Jewish state did to the five invading Arab/Muslim armies.

To whom it may concern:

Dear Sirs,

TOF is a Dutch group of young Jewish professionals whose aim is to safeguard Jewish life in the Netherlands. Its’ supporters have been involved in various Dutch Jewish committees and Foundations. We are writing to you as we need your immediate attention and support for the matter addressed below.

An increasing number of companies and institutions in the Netherlands are under the influence of the BDS-movement. Their ideology has already affected the decisions of various companies to stop their projects in Israel, disinvest in Israeli Banks, etc. We are afraid that this is just the beginning, and therefore we need to take counter measurements. We call upon you to help us to boycott those who boycott Israel.

Recently one of the major Dutch pension funds, PGGM, has made public the decision to cease investing in five Israeli banks due to their involvement in financing Jewish villages on the West Bank.  However, they limit their moral crusade to only include Israel. They have been silent on moral topics concerning China and Saudi Arabia. They, for example, have invested in the Bank of China, while China occupies Tibet. They own shares in Shell, which operates in Arab and African countries where human rights are not honored. And also Turkey. Turkey has been occupying Northern Cyprus since 1974. Parts of Cyprus, an EU-member state, are being occupied and colonised by Turkey, but PGGM seems to have no policy to divest from Turkish companies with dealings in occupied Cyprus. It seems that PGGM believes that Israel and the Jews should be treated differently from other countries and other people.

We call upon you, your network and infrastructure to show PPGM and other Dutch organizations, which are also considering singling out Israel, that their policy is internationally unacceptable.

The Chief Executive Officer of PGGM, Ms Else F. Bos, is holding an advisory position in the board of Emory University, Atlanta USA: http://goizueta.emory.edu/faculty/cai/about/board.html. We kindly ask for your co-operation and efforts to demand the resignation of Ms Bos from her position in the board.

With regards,

Dennis Pekel
