EU Euro Bailout

AS THE EURO GOES SO DOES THE UK…….

Fat lady seen singing her heart out.

Lets all hope the miserable highly undemocratic and corrupt EU, along with its laughable currency goes the way of the dinosaur. Anything built upon lies and contempt for the people of Europe, is something worth fighting against. KGS

NOTE: The article is scare mongering to get the Brits to back the euro, when on the contrary, they should be cheering its insolvency. EU states should flee the euro. not back it.

If the eurozone implodes, Britain will go with it

Unless Germany acts soon, this country could find itself going the way of Italy.

Britain’s economy may already have dipped back into recession, but thanks to developments in Italy over the past few days, the chances of it being pushed into something very much worse have got a whole lot bigger. As was always predictable, getting rid of Silvio Berlusconi hasn’t helped matters one jot – yields on 10-year Italian bonds soared past 7 per cent yesterday.

This was the level that forced Greece, Ireland and Portugal to seek support from European and IMF bail-out funds, and there is no reason to believe Italy is any more capable of weathering the storm. Economic contraction, reinforced by repeated rounds of austerity, has put Italian sovereign debt on an unsustainable path. It’s taken less than a week for the Cannes summit to prove itself wholly irrelevant, and the crisis is again spiralling out of control. Italy, the eurozone’s third largest economy, is not just “too big to fail”, but it may also be too big to bail.

Bloomberg is reporting a Handelsblatt report (due tomorrow) CDU Seeks to Make Euro Exits Possible

“RMBS patents ruled invalidGerman Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union party wants to make it possible for European Union members to exit the euro area, Handelsblatt reported in a preview of an article to be published tomorrow, citing unnamed participants in the discussion.
A commission within the party, that is crafting a framework to be presented at a party meeting, has proposed allowing a euro member who doesn’t want to or isn’t able to comply with the common currency rules to leave the euro region without losing membership in the EU, the newspaper said.”

A comment at that post asks the following:

Did Merkel Just Usher In The Deutsche Mark or the Drachma?

    Hmmmm.
