Well, it’s indeed refreshing to hear that the founder of Israeli Apartheid week, Judy Rebick, though a true believer in it, to call her project what it is, propaganda. Seeing that she’s a propagandist, it means that actual facts and figures are of no significance to her whatsoever, getting her distorted version of reality out into the public and into every day dialogue is what matters most.
The woman is eerily reminiscent of Joseph Goebbels, who no doubt believed in the German National Socialist party’s, pseudo racial science. For Goebbels, it was indeed a factual reality, and he sought to spread knowledge of it as far and wide as possible with the most effective propaganda available.
This is how to understand the rationale behind the thinking of Judy Redick, she really does believe in her propaganda, as did Goebbels during the Nazi years. However, belief in a falsehood, no matter how fervent the believer, doesn’t make it true. Israel is a pluralistic multi-ethnic country which has its share of problems (as all states do), but demonizing the vibrant democracy while ample examples of ethnic/religious (loosely termed) apartheid exist in the Arab states around her, is beyond the pale. NOTE: An interesting discovery, If her last name is verbally repeated enough times in rapid succession it sounds like the croaking of a frog.
Judy Redick: I really do believe in my propaganda!
Israeli Apartheid Propaganda
Editor’s Note: Thanks to alert readers for pointing out a sincere error in one of the quotes in the story as transcribed from a YouTube video. This story has been corrected.
Speaking at an Israeli Apartheid Week event in Toronto, Rabble.ca co-founder Judy Rebick has managed to let the cat out of the bag in the most spectacular fashion: she admits that Israeli Apartheid Week is nothing more than an anti-Israel propaganda campaign.
As it turns out, Rebick wasn’t always a big fan of Israeli Apartheid Week, even though she shares its most basic assumptions.
