The head Turk knows that Libya is only responsible for about 2% of world oil production so that couldn’t be the reason for the calls to sanction the African state. Nope, the Turk is P.O.’d over Sarkozy’s repeated rejection of Turkish membership into the EU. KGS

But he’s slowly getting used to it.
Turkey’s PM speaks out against Libya sanctions
ANKARA, Turkey (AP) – Turkey’s prime minister has spoken out against the United Nations imposing sanctions on Libya, warning that the Libyan people would suffer most, not Moammar Gadhafi’s regime.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan also suggested Saturday that the international community was acting out of concern about Libya’s oil reserves and not its people.
Erdogan spoke hours before U.N. Security Council members were to meet again to discuss ways to punish the Libyan leader for his violent attacks on anti-government protesters. Up for consideration are an arms embargo against the government and a travel ban and asset freeze against Gadhafi and family members.
Erdogan said “we call on the international community to act with conscience, justice, laws and universal humane values—not out of oil concerns.”
