Exclusive: Tundra Tabloids Contacts Norwegian Priest Who Allowed Texts From the Koran to be Read in National Cathedral…..

Via the excellent blog Islam in Europe, the TT learned of an incident that took place (24.10.08) on ‘UN Day’, in the Nidaros Cathedral in the city of Trondheim Norway.
For the first time, texts from the Muslim holy book, the Koran, were read during a service in the Nidaros Cathedral. The reading was met with applause by the students of the Kolstad and Tonstad schools in Trondheim, who had congregated in the national cathedral for a peace service on UN Day Friday.
The texts were read by two students from Kolstad and one from Tonstad.
They joined in after Tonstad students read famous Bible verses from the Old and New Testaments. Much of the content was about seeking peace and justice – both in the Christian and Muslim text.

Parish priest Lars Sperre (TT:pictured) from Tiller congregation led the service together with colleague Bodil Slørdal of the Domkirken congregation. Sperre didn’t hide that he was proud of having been part of a historic event.” By allowing the Koran’s message in our house of prayer, we wanted to show that this will be a service in the spirit of tolerance. We live in a multi-religious society and this must be expressed in the Church, says Sperre, who led a procession of participating students both at the start and end of the service.”
The Tundra Tabloids has contacted Lars Sperre -the priest who officiated the service- by telephone today, to enquire about what actually took place, and whether any similar events are planned for the future. Here is what the Lutheran priest said, which revealed far more about the mindest of these well meaning, but clueless religious leaders, than he would care to admit.

Tundra Tabloids: I recently heard about your church service in Trondheim, in which portions of the Koran were read, did you have a Torah scroll there as well?

Lars Sperre: No, just the Old and New Testaments and the Koran were read from. It was in honor of UN Day.

Tundra Tabloids: Do you know of anything similar planned for the future, that would for an example, see Christian texts and the Jewish Torah being read from in a mosque, lets say in a mosque in Trondheim?

Lars Sperre: No, this was the only time for this. It was just a one time happening.

Tundra Tabloids: Do you think that Christian texts or the Jewish Torah could be read from in a mosque at all?

Lars Sperre: No. I don’t thinks so, well I don’t know. This was only a one time thing.

Tundra Tabloids: Would you consider the next time around, lets say in a year, to arrange a similar UN Day event in a mosque, in which Christian texts and the Torah would be read?

Lars Sperre: Eh, no I don’t think so, Muslims don’t observe UN Day.

It has become increasingly clear, that if people are to be properly educated about Islam, (and what it means to live in a ‘multicultural society’ in which Islam is openly ‘monoculture’ in every respect) don’t expect our politicians, the academy or our religious leaders to be any help. The lion share of the job of informing is going to be left solely to us.

The people of Europe are being led down the prim rose path of fuzzy and warm multiculturalism without a clue that it’s being manipulated by a very strict monoculture. Islam will use multiculturalism as long as it’s useful to it, only to be jettisoned once Islam has achieved its place of dominance. Then ironically, it will be ‘bye bye to multiculturalism’, but long after the host culture has ceased to exist and a new monoculture sits in its place. KGS

NOTE: The Organization of the Islamic Council is the single most powerful international institution besides the UN, and it throws its entire political weight into the UN to subvert it, yet Muslims refuse to observe the UN’s own special day? Does this M.O. sound familiar?

NOTE: Video of the incident can be viewed here.

  1. Insightful. Does he not see that his dialogue with Muslims is a one way street? Evidently not.
