A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of ‘Islamist-related’ terrorism offences in a seaside town in West Sussex this morning.
Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) arrested the man in a 5am raid at a house in Worthing.
He was apprehended under section 41 of the Terrorism Act (2000) on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation, or instigation of an act of terrorism, police said.
He remains in custody, with officers confirming the operation was ‘pre-planned’.
