GOT HIM: US airstrike ANNIHILATES top al-Qaeda leader Faruq al-Qatabi in Afghanistan
A US drone strike has killed senior al-Qaeda leader Faruq al-Qatani, the Pentagon has confirmed.

The leader was wiped out in an October 23 airstrike
Al-Qatani was the terror group’s leader for north-eastern Afghanistan and was charged with creating safe havens for jihadis in the country.
He was believed also believed to have plotted attacks abroad.
The chief was killed in the October 23 strike in Kunar, Afghanistan.

The deadly strike also targeted al-Qatani’s deputy, Bilal al-Utabi.
Al-Qatani was thought to be one of the most senior al-Qaeda figures remaining in Afghanistan after most of the group’s top brass had gone to Syria and Iraq.
He was reportedly hiding in the region’s thick forest and rugged terrain.
