Donald Trump could be banned from entering the UK if he is deemed by ministers to be ‘non-conducive to the public good’, the Government has declared in response to the biggest ever petition on the Government website.

The petition to the government was created after the Republican presidential candidate made a series of outbursts about Britain’s ‘massive Muslim problem’.

Prime Minister David Cameron said Mr Trump’s call to ban all Muslims from entering America was ‘divisive, stupid and wrong’ and ministers had steered clear of backing a ban on the controversial politician.

But in today’s response to the petition, the Government made clear it acknowledged ‘strength of feeling’ behind the more than 565,000 signatures.

The Government has outlined its exclusion powers and said it recognises the 'strength of feeling' in the country about banning Donald Trump in response to the biggest ever petition on the Government website

The Government has outlined its exclusion powers and said it recognises the ‘strength of feeling’ in the country about banning Donald Trump in response to the biggest ever petition on the Government website

The Government used its response to outline its ‘very serious’ banning powers, warning they are not ‘used lightly’.

It said: ‘For good reasons the Government does not routinely comment on individual immigration and exclusion decisions.

‘The Home Secretary may exclude a non-European Economic Area national from the UK if she considers their presence in the UK to be non-conducive to the public good.

‘The Home Secretary has said that coming to the UK is a privilege and not a right and she will continue to use the powers available to prevent from entering the UK those who seek to harm our society and who do not share our basic values.

  1. But what if ‘The Donald’ were to become President?

OK, so George Wills thinks this is highly unlikely but readers of his pseudo psychological evaluation of Trump were not impressed – and neither was I.

Trump is speaking out the things that conservative Americans (and not so conservative Americans) are thinking.

They have had enough of self-serving RINO politicians, dancing around the important issues – too scared to say what they really think and too frightened of offending various minority groups.

They are terrified that Trump might leave the GOP and stand as an Independent because if he did leave, he would take a huge number of registered Republicans with him.

When he says political correctness is killing America he is 100% right.

He is refreshing and transparent . . I like that, and evidently so do many decent law abiding American patriots.

At the very least he has livened up a very boring political scene.

  2. Interesting. The British government has stated that entry into Britain is a privilege not a right of a non citizen. Trump is saying the same thing, and the British government agrees with trump, that it is indeed a Privilege for non Citizen to enter into a Sovereign Nation, and not a right. The only difference is in United States we have Freedom of speech, unfortunately in U.K.; and many other European nations freedom of speech is not apart of the landscape. Hate speech laws have taken that away for it’s own citizens, and other Nations as well…?……. Who decides what is hate speech? Is it not a right of a sovereign nation to have a political debate on the Issue of National security, with it’s citizens of that Nation.? I seem to remember the some in the British government calling for the revocation of Citizenship of citizens that join Isis………. So British government wants to revoke Citizenship, and den entry into the U.K., plus restrict freedom of speech in the U.K. and in the United states? Very interesting! Why is it when the United States has their own political discussion on National security that Britain and the world has their own slant to our political debate? Could it be hypocrisy, or an Anti American agenda that goes back to the birth of United States. Some type of European supremacy, very Interesting.
