Police remove two asylum-seekers from Kangasvuori Centre – over cuisine dispute
Asylum seekers at the Kangasvuori reception center can not cook for themselves, but are served meals.
The second reception center in Jyväskylä at Kangasvuori asylum seekers have in recent days been dissatisfied with the Finnish Red Cross (SPR) operations.
A portion of the almost 200-seat reception center population would like to prepare their own meals, so that they have something to do on a daily basis, instead of mainly just waiting. Now, the Kylä public utility distributes from the kitchen the food ready for the reception center facility.
According to a volunteer who contacted the Keskisuomalainen (paper), a proportion of asylum seekers would on Friday, start a hunger strike in protest against the Finnish Red Cross, which is responsible for the running of reception centers.
– Asylum seekers are frustrated. In addition to food preparation, the discontent has caused problems in obtaining money, due to both the Red Cross’s poor communication and worker’s night shifts, says an anonymous volunteer.
Allowing your own cooking would require major changes
Janne Oksanen Jyvässeudun reception center director from the FRC denied a hunger strike and said that the money received in November was paid normally.
– The hunger strike is too strong of words. Dissatisfaction has been seen, but the protesters have had breakfast and evening meals morning and evening meals as well as having bread, banana and juice in their rooms, Oksanen said on Monday.
The single asylum seeker alone gets EUR 92.64 per month, if they are offered food at the reception center. Without the meals offered in the reception center the money received is 316.07 euros per month..
– Also, money is the motive for the willingness to cook for themselves.
According to Oksanen, allowing their own cooking would require major changes at the Kangasvuori reception center, where the Red Cross has leased it from the Hospital District.
– The rental agreement will last until next summer. Cooking would require changes to the arrangement of the building as well as in practice, for example, the acquisition of dozens of stoves.
According to Oksanen, asylum seekers are not completely satisfied with the food offered either.
– The food is the same, what is offered, for example, in schools of Jyväskylä. We try to take the asylum seekers wishes for food into account, even though the size of the menu can not for their sake can be changed.
According to Oksanen, the Finnish Red Cross is currently planning the training of asylum seekers, together with Jyväkylä’s County Education.
The police removed the two asylum-seeker center
Last week, the situation intensified Kangasvuori to the extent that the police removed the two asylum seekers from the reception center. According to Oksanen, “the worst” was transferred to another reception center to deescalate the situation.
– We asked the police for help because the female employees experienced feeling threatened.

The sense of entitlement shared by modern ‘refugees’ is without precedent in human history. At what other place and time in the history of the world has there been an expectation of prepared meals, a comfortable place to stay, free money, and free lawyers with which to file lawsuits as an obligation of the host country to provide on the sole grounds that you illegally crossed their border? I challenge anyone. When?
We are witness to one of the most extreme Mass Social Psychosis of all time in today’s Europe. This is a people and a civilization in its death throes.
