We need more and more out there protesting.
More than 200 opposed Runosmäki emergency accommodation
A demonstration objecting to the emergency accommodation for asylum seekers at Runosmäki attracted an estimated 200 people. Among the audience signs waved over opposition to the placement of asylum seekers in the suburbs, as well as immigration.
The atmosphere in the school next to the sandy ground was peaceful. All interested parties had the opportunity to talk to the public, where many also seized the opportunity.
The speakers were concerned, inter alia, Runosmäki security, warned of the dangers of Islam and stressed the importance of nationalism.
The language remained largely moderate. A few drunken speakers used racist words and announced that they’re prepared to go to jail if the immigrants touched their loved ones.
Jussi Kankaristo from Turku, who had come to Kärsämäki for the first demonstration in his life, recited a poem to the public.
