Turkey has launched air strikes against Islamic State for the first time following the death of a Turkish soldier at the Syrian border.
One militant was killed and three Islamist vehicles were damaged in the attacks, which saw Turkish soldiers deliberately target IS strongholds.
The deadly clash came after 32 people – mainly young activists – died in a suicide bombing in a border town on Monday, sparking an upsurge in violence.

One soldier – a non-commissioned officer – was also killed and two sergeants wounded by fire from five IS terrorists on the Syrian side of the border, the Turkish army said.
Monday’s attack marked the first time the government had explicitly blamed IS for a strike in the country.
