Ragnhild Ekelund, does not agree that it is impossible to live up to the Social Services Act’s requirements for a child living as married.
She wants for confidentiality reasons not to comment on individual cases, but says it’s not necessarily wrong to place and asylum-seeking child with an adult the child is married to.
– The question is whether there is security for a person. It could be that security is the partner you have with them, says Ragnhild Ekelund.

A marriage between a 14-year-old girl and a 21-year old man was approved last year by the Swedish authorities. It can EKOT revealed today.The case has aroused strong feelings, but is only one of several examples in recent years of child marriage recognized in Sweden.
It was this summer that the 14-year-old girl came along with her 21-year-old man who were asylum seekers to Gothenburg.
Since it was about a child it was connected social services in Gothenburg in, which decided that the couple were placed together in an apartment in another municipality in western Sweden.
