Greasing the skids
Just like Mr. Bruce ($600 000 to Obama) Oreck, the latest former U.S. ambassador to Finland, this other clod has helped to ply similar amounts into the Obama money raking machine.
Bruce Oreck has served as the American ambassador in Helsinki since 2009, but he is soon to be replaced. Just as Oreck donated to President Obama’s election campaigns, so his replacement Charles C. Adams has given large sums to both Obama campaigns.
In 2008 he was part of a supporters’ group that raised more than 50,000 US dollars for the election campaign, while in the 2012 election he had a significant role in bringing in more than half a million dollars.
Adams has worked for international law firms in Geneva since 1993, and he is currently working for Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.
Ex-bodybuilder Oreck has made a big impact during his time in Helsinki, maintaining an active presence on social media, posing shirtless for a fitness magazine and using a family pet he christened as ‘Ambassadog’ to help build links with ordinary Finns.
