Mark Steyn hits the nail on the head, for the most part, Europe has not offered the Muslim immigrant anything to integrate themselves into. Finland on the other hand, has a strong national identity, something that the rest of Europe can learn from, which is something that the Tundra Tabloids stated in the first ever Counterjihad conference in Brussels.
While the Finnish state has a troubling tendency for appeasement, it makes up for that in national pride, they are unabashedly proud of being Finns, something that the Germans and other member EU states cannot come close to in comparison. As long as Finns cherish their cultural heritage -something of which that has been forged in the national character through centuries of Swedish and Russian occupation- normal immigration numbers won’t effect the identity of the state.
There is however a problem with the the Finnish tendency to over react to the sensibilities of the Muslim communities, in appeasing these small communities to the point of ridiculousness. However, as long as Finns remain traditionally cautious of tampering with their national identity, while remaining pro-Finn in attitude, meaning that it’s something to celebrate, the problems facing other European countries will not manifest themselves in Finland.
