UNHRC Makes it Official: Criticizing Islam Is a Criminal Offence…….

OIC lap dog labels truth the new racism

UNHRC: Religions matter more than human beings

Like the Tundra Tabloids has said all along, the OIC is out silence any criticism of Islam, forcing the non-Muslim world to accept its tradition second-class role of a Dhimmi, who is not allowed to criticize Islam, its prophet nor any Muslim. This is yet again, another solid example of why the United Nations is a bad idea, and should cease to exist, and a new international organization called the League of Democratic States rise from its ashes.

Let the Non Aligned Members (NAM), the Organization of the Islamic Council (OIC) and the Arab League form their own clique, and pass resolutions till they’re green in the face, the Democratic West shouldn’t have anything more to do with their stupidity, and subversion of international human rights organizations. UN body OKs call to curb religious criticism

GENEVA (AP) — The U.N.’s top human-rights body approved a proposal backed by Muslims nations Thursday urging the passage of laws around the world protecting religion from criticism. The proposal by Pakistan had drawn strong criticism from free-speech campaigners and liberal democracies.

A simple majority of 23 members of the 47-nation Human Rights Council voted in favor of the resolution. Eleven mostly Western nations opposed it and 13 countries abstained. The resolution urges states to provide “protection against acts of hatred, discrimination, intimidation and coercion resulting from defamation of religions and incitement to religious hatred in general.”

[TT: Truth is now the new racism. It’s also guaranteed that if this proposal ever gains currency within the West, it will only be prosecuted in the West, and never in the states that prosoed the idea. It’s all about safeguarding the supremacist rights of Islam and Muslims.]

“It is individuals who have rights and not religions,” said Canadian diplomat Terry Cormier. Canada’s criticism was echoed by European Union countries, all of which voted against the proposal. The council is dominated by Muslim and African countries. Muslim nations have argued that religions, in particular Islam, must be shielded from criticism in the media and other areas of public life. They cited cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad as an example of unacceptable free speech.

[TT: Classic case of the Right of the Gods Vs. the Rights of Man, and where Islam is concerned, the rights of man lose out every time.]

“Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism,” the resolution said. A coalition of more than 100 secular and faith groups had called on governments to oppose the resolution, warning that it could lead to accusations of defamation among different faiths.

[TT: This is all a lie, but as long as the West continues to give these morons the time of day, their thinking gains currency. What they want is a complete ban on the criticism of Sharia, you know, the dreaded sharia that some Finnish UPI analysts poo poo every chance they get.]

The United States did not vote on the resolution because it is not a member of the council. The Bush administration announced it was virtually giving up on the body and would participate in debates only if absolutely necessary because of the council’s anti-Israel statements and its failure to act on abuses in Sudan and elsewhere.

India, which normally votes along with the council’s majority of developing nations, abstained in protest at the fact that Islam was the only religion specifically named as deserving protection. India’s Ambassador Gopinathan Achamkulangare said the resolution “inappropriately” linked religious criticism to racism.

According to the Baron at the Gates of Vienna:

“Countries voting in favor on Thursday included 15 of the 16 countries that are also members of the OIC – Burkina Faso alone went against the OIC line and abstained – along with OIC allies China, Russia, Cuba, South Africa, Angola, Nicaragua, Bolivia and the Philippines.

Canada and Chile joined nine European countries in voting against the motion.

Abstaining were Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Ghana, India, Japan, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mexico, South Korea, Uruguay, and Zambia.

Those states abstaining from the vote were pitiful cowards, whose actions enabled such a vote to gain the majority, thereby including themselves by default, with those who want to trample our hard won free speech rights.
