Hamas Will Never Change, No Use Hoping…….

PMW: Hamas calls for kidnapping more Israeli soldiers as hostages to achieve release of 10,000 terrorist prisoners

The Prisoners’ Committee of the Palestinian Legislative Council presented 10 suggestions for action “and the most prominent was the call for further kidnappings of Zionist soldiers as a solution to end the prisoners’ suffering,” according to a report by Hamas’s Al-Aqsa Television. The Hamas statements indicate that they see the kidnapping of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who is still being held hostage, as effective policy, since Israel has already offered to release Palestinian terrorists from Israeli jails.

However, due to Israel’s insistence on releasing only a limited number of terrorists in exchange for the single soldier, Hamas believes that kidnapping more Israeli soldiers is necessary to release the thousands of imprisoned Palestinian terrorists. As Sa’id Siam, former interior minister, explained: “There were suggestions to repeat the kidnapping operations of other Israeli soldiers… the capture of the [single] soldier will not be [enough] cause for the release of over 10,000 prisoners.”

The following are the transcripts of the calls to kidnap more Israeli soldiers:

Member of the Legislative Council Um-Nasser Farachat:“With no connection to my being a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council and my involvement in the leadership, as a Palestinian citizen, by God, I don’t believe in any solution other than one: kidnapping Zionist soldiers.”

The newscaster:”The kidnapping of more Zionist soldiers [is required]… 10 Zionist soldiers – maybe less – will guarantee the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners.”

Sa’id Siam, Former interior minister:“There were suggestions to repeat the operations of kidnapping other Israeli soldiers, because we know that the occupation understands no other language. Second, the capture of the [single] soldier will not be enough cause for the release of [the] over 10,000 prisoners… There are many suggestions, but what’s important is what will actually be done.”

Member of the Legislative Council Um-Nasser Farachat:“We hope that with the help of Allah, praise and extol him, the kidnappers will stick with their demands and will not lower their demands in any way… until they [the Israelis] will surrender to our conditions.”
The newscaster’s summation:“A number of suggestions were brought up during the meeting of the Legislative Council, and the most prominent was the call for further kidnappings of Zionist soldiers as a solution to end the prisoners’ suffering.”[Al Aqsa TV, Hamas, April 18, 2007]

Like the Hezbollah, the Hamas will never be anything but an intolerant religious/fascist movement, that is sustained by its members’ hatred of others not like themselves. This spells trouble not only for Jews, but for Arab Christians and secular Muslims as well.

Forget minority rights (like gays) or women’s equality, not even any of Israel’s worst detractors hold out any hope for these these groups. As it stands, the issue of a Palestinian state in the near future is as far fetched as it is far off. Stephen Plaut gives 35 reasons as to why a state called Palestine is not such a good idea under any circumstances.

Perhaps some measure of autonomy or even joining the WB to Jordan (the other Palestinian state) is the most realistic of solutions. They don’t really deserve anything else. *L* KGS
