Chemical attack fears as ‘dirty bomb’ found next to train tracks
THE bomb squad was called after two suspected chemical fire bombs were found next to a train line.
Train services were halted after at least two devices – which appeared to be homemade bombs – were found next to railway tracks in Concord, Massachusetts, in the US, on Tuesday night.
Police have described the packages – reportedly found next to railway tracks – as “suspicious bottles”.
The devices were used to start a fire next to the busy commuter train line.
The area has been sealed off as cops continue to investigate the incident.
Someone put bottles filled with what appeared to be household chemicals on the tracks to cause a fire or explosion, police said.
At least one device was detonated by police, according to local media.
A bomb disposal robot is reportedly working on a second device.
