In an article published on a Finnish “peace” organization’s website, the “Rauhanpuolustajat” (Defenders of Peace), writer, Jussi Sinnemaa defends the indefensible,…the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahamdinejad. Sinnemaa attempts to cross the divide of rational thought and reason, with an Orwellian bridge made out of half truths and obfuscations, literally twisting the words of Iranian president to resemble something that even Ahamdinejad would object to. He really meant what he said.
According to Sinnemaa’s article “The pace picks up in the propaganda war against Iran”, Ahmadinejad’s words were merely mistranslated, “…There is no idiom in the Persian language of ‘wiping off the map’…”
Al-Jazeera reports Ahmadinejad this way:
“There is no doubt that the new wave (of attacks) in Palestine will soon wipe off this disgraceful blot (Israel) from the face of the Islamic world.”
Its a matter of public record that Ahmadinejad was quoting the late Ayatollah Komanei’s words for the need to get rid of Israel, with other Iranian leaders being on record for having mentioned Israel’s destruction as well. But none have repeatedly called for Israel’s destruction as much as Ahmadinejad. Why Sinnemaa would choose to downplay the offensive words of Ahamdinejad, can only be summed up in his antipathy towards Israel, and its national movement, Zionism.
Just how in the name of reason and common sense, can an organization allow for such an article to be published on their website, that claims to be promoting peace and understanding? Its a forgone conclusion that whenever a group has either “peace or human rights” in its name, they usually aren’t extending either of them towards the Israelis.
In another article, he tries to also make Iran the victim of US conspirital machinations for ME oil, a rather worn out and deflated canard that has been debunked time and time again. When it comes to Leftist nonsense about “oil politics”, its usually just the US mentioned, rarely Europe or China. Its a matter public record that the EU is the main purchaser of Iraqi oil, before AND after Operation Iraqi Freedom, which deflates the conspiracy of US hegemony over ME oil. Besides, if a state like the US is so evil as the Lefties would have us believe, they would not only covet another country’s oil fields, they would take them over completely.
True evil, is truly evil, like Saddam Hussein, in his land grab of Quwaiti oil fields. The US buying their oil at internationally market price value, differs greatly from the picture Sinnemaa conjurs up for us to believe, which is truly a nonsensical canard. If the Finnish group “Rauhanpuolustajat” had any sense of decency and fairness, they would distance themselves from the provacator, Jussi Sinnemaa, who is no analyist in any sense of the word. KGS
