DENMARK REDUCES ASYLUM SEEKER INTAKE BY 56% IN 1 YEAR
Denmark is now taking fewer asylum seekers than most other EU countries after drastically reducing its intake.
In the second quarter of 2017, only 26% of applications were successful – that’s down from a staggering 82% in the same period in 2016.
Only Bulgaria and the Czech Republic have a lower intake.
Martin Henriksen, the country’s Immigration Affairs Spokesman, said: “The best part is that fewer are now seeking asylum in Denmark. It’s definitely moving in the right direction. Let’s now see if we can get the other parties to agree to tighten the legislation further.”
