Mayor wants to force public prosecution to act against criminal asylum seekers
Mayor Jos Heijmans of Weert goes to court to force the public prosecution to prosecute six asylum seekers. These six asylum seekers had been prohibited from leaving their residences on New Year’s Eve but violated this prohibition. The complaint concerns that these six asylum seekers carried out thefts and harrassed a woman on New Year’s Eve. They belong to a group of twenty North African asylum seekers whom according to the Weert municipality cause frequent problems. The prosecution claims that there is not enough proof to prosecute them.
