Yahya is the real deal, too bad Israel’s neighborhood isn’t filled with such-like people.
Yahya’s transition from the traditional Arab male youth hating Israel, to that of one who became a loyal Israeli and proud Zionist was a long process.
As an Israeli-Arab from Umm Al-Fahm, he had the courage (and still is courageous) to challenge his existing prejudices against Jews, as well as against the Jewish state he lives in. At great personal cost.
Having experienced death threats and even attempts on his life (his car was once rigged with a bomb), his story is one of deep reflection, encouragement and perseverance.
I wish him all the best.
