Like I said earlier on repeated occasions, thug Putin can only be counted on to fight against the jihad where its own interests are at stake, and more than willing to allow it to continue against the West with the hope of it keeping them off balance. That said, it doesn’t help that Obama has been funding, arming and aiding Islamo-groups that are no better than Islamic State, and some even aligned with it.
Russia is doing ‘VIRTUALLY NOTHING’ in the fight against ISIS, US defence chief blasts
RUSSIA has done “virtually zero” to fight the Islamic State in Syria, according to US Defence Secretary Ash Carter, who claims Washington and its coalition partners are tackling the terror cell alone.
In an interview with NBC, Secretary Carter claimed: “They haven’t done anything.
“They came in, they said they were going to fight ISIL, and they said they were going to help in the civil war in Syria.”
He added: “They haven’t done either of those things.
“As a consequence of course, we’re fighting ISIL ourselves.”
The Pentagon chief went on to say that Moscow had achieved “virtually zero” in Syria, making US efforts harder because of their differing views on the best way forward for there country following a long civil war which has seen thousands killed and millions forced to flee their homes.
He was full of praise for US-led forces, who arrived in Syria late last year in an attempt to “help Assad move aside gently” and “bring the moderate opposition into the Syrian government,” according to Sec. Carter.
