Explosives in people trafficker’s car triggers police operation on Germany-Austria border
A MAJOR police operation was triggered when officers were alerted to a cache of bombs hidden in a suspected people trafficker’s car.

Police moved in early today on the highway 93 near the upper Bavarian Kiefersfelden (Rosenheim) border.
A police patrol car had discovered four people at an entry check with the suspicious items, and federal police and state police were informed.
A further search of the vehicle also uncovered cutting equipment, weapons and narcotics.
The highway was diverted in both directions between Kufstein Nord and on the German side of Kiefersfelden, serrvice stations in Inntal East and West were evacuated.
Bomb disposal teams were called in but after an extensive search no finished explosive devices were found.
