Please someone tell me why the other pope retired?
He can’t really believe what he’s spouting, but yet nonetheless, he spews the same drivel coming out of any other muslim leader and/or their sycophants. I guess being the first ever marxist pope isn’t enough of a taboo to be broken, he has to go whole hog and promote Islam as well, being the first dhimmi pope for Islam.

The problem with his statement is, there are no verses from the Christian New Testament advocating violence, exhorting the faithful to pick up the sword and strike the necks of the unbeliever. They simply do not exist. On the contrary, it contains the words of Jesus who rebukes the use of the sword, of Peter, who strikes the ear off from a Roman guard coming to arrest his rabbi, who reattaches the ear and says:
“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Matthew 26:52New International Version (NIV) :52
But in contrast, the koran states:
“And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief] is worse than killing…but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)” Quran (2:191-193) –
“Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.”Quran (2:216) –
“Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.”Quran (4:74) –
You get the point, as well as everyone else who refuses to submit to the followers of the murdering desert warlord.
Pope says it is wrong to equate Islam with violence

ABOARD THE PAPAL PLANE (Reuters) – Pope Francis said on Sunday that equating Islam with violence was wrong and called on Muslim leaders to issue a global condemnation of terrorism to help dispel the stereotype.
Francis, the leader of 1.2 billion Roman Catholics, told reporters aboard his plane returning from a visit to Turkey that he understood why Muslims were offended by many in the West who automatically equated their religion with terrorism.
Francis’ predecessor, Benedict XVI, caused storms of protest throughout the Islamic world in 2006, when he made a speech that suggested to many Muslims that he believed Islam espoused violence.
Benedict said he had been misunderstood and apologized. But this year, the image of a violent religion has once more been promoted by Islamic State, who have seized swathes of Syria and Iraq, slaughtering or driving out Shi’ite Muslims, Christians and others who do not share their radical brand of Sunni Islam.
The Argentine pope, who has been trying to foster cooperation with moderate Islam in order to work for peace and protect Christians in the Middle East, said it was wrong for anyone to react to terrorism by being “enraged” against Islam.
