Finnish blogger, Vasara Hammer, sends the TT the following pearls of advice found in an op-ed published last week in the Helsingin Sanomat, by Inkeri Rissanen and Tuula Sakaranaho, ”Rissanen is a Doctor of Theology and Sakaranaho a religious studies professor at the University of Helsinki.”
The two Helsinki University academics’ op-ed -that supported teaching Islam in Finnish schools for integration purposes- appeared just prior to the recent news report of four Muslims having been arrested on terrorism related charges, one of whom being on the Helsinki city payroll as a teacher of Islam in the public school system.
In Finland, schools teaching Islam gives more students ‘knowledge of religion, and supports a Muslim students’ identity. At the same time, it provides a single path to integration into society.
Tuula Sakaranaho, is the loon academic of theology who compared a couple abortion clinic bombings with the 24 000 jihad attacks by pious Muslims, stating that:
“If someone in America bombs an abortion clinic or kills abortion doctors, no one will ask us how can you Christians you do something like that,” states Sakaranaho. “You can’t blame me for what another person does. But that’s the way the idea works, that every Muslim is responsible for what every other Muslim does in the world”.
