Children of Men Murdered by Dutch Army in Former Dutch Indies Want Compensation
Almost seventy years ago, the Dutch military executed, without trial, thousands of men in the southern part of Sulawesi Island. At that time, the island was part of the Dutch Indies, now Indonesia. Three children of the murdered have now put in a claim against the Dutch government for compensation. One of them witnessed, as a child, the murder of his father by Dutch troops.
The three come from the villages of Suppa and Bulukumba, where hundreds of men were executed without trial, and houses were burnt down to the ground. This was done by the Dutch special troops under the command of Captain Raymond Westerling. In 2011, a Dutch judge condemned the government and ordered it to pay compensation to the widows of the victims of a similar Dutch mass murder in the village of Rawagede, on the Island of Java.

This is idiotic. These people were waging jihad against the Dutch authorities and they paid them back in kind, just like the Philippine government should in Mindanao, just like the Thais should in “the deep south” and just like the Burmese Buddhists should fight back against Bangladeshi Muslim invaders.
Yes, the Dutch were the colonial power at the time; like it or not. But I shall remind the anti-colonialist shriekers among us that colonialism did more more for India than the Indians ever did for themselves, and HongKong is still the most liveable a loveable place in all of Asia thanks to the British. If it wasn’t for Islam, the Dutch could have done the same for Batavia Indonesia. To pay compo is idiotic, it is based on a falsehood and on a warped understanding of jihad and Mohammedanism. It is above everything a misguided guilt trip by bleeding hearts who never learned a thing about their own history.
