Finland minister of development’s grand humanitarian gesture.
How are you going to help in their (Kurds and Yazidis) development when they’re wiped out by the Islamonazis? This is all too typical for the Finnish government that’s bent on competing with its Nordic neighbors for the role of ”the humanitarian state”.
NOTE: Nordic Cognitive dissonance: We ‘true’ humanitarians do not deal in weapons (unless we’re defending ourselves, or you’re purchasing them from us of course.)
Haavisto: Finland provides humanitarian aid to Iraq
Some of the European countries are to supply weapons to Kurds in Iraq fighting against the Isis (TT: Islamic State) organizations. Finland does not intend to export weapons to Iraq.

Finland intends to provide humanitarian assistance in northern Iraq crisis areas, says Development Minister Pekka Haavisto (Greens.).
– What is certain is the fact that Finland will be there to provide humanitarian assistance, Haavisto said on Friday before the EU Foreign Ministers meeting at Brussels.
According to Haavisto we will now explore the possibilities of humanitarian assistance, inter alia, through the International Red Cross and the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR. The primary goal is to help people on the ground.
Haavisto could not even tell the amount of Finnish aid to be sent to Iraq.
