NOTE: EU hacks flout their own rules all the time when it suits them, time for them to receive a taste of their own medicine.

Personally, I reject such dual positions, it’s a common practice in Finland where a sitting member of parliament is also sitting on city councils etc., I say, one seat is enough. That said, we are living in exceptional and dangerous times, and having Wilders inside the EU parliament eviscerating his opponents there, would be excellent and an exciting thing to watch. Also, the EU has a fake parliament, so in reality, he will only be representing one real democratic institution.

ELECTORAL COMMISSION TELLS WILDERS HE CAN SERVE DUTCH AND EUROPEAN PARLIAMENTS

The Dutch electoral commission has said that Geert Wilders, leader of the eurosceptic Dutch Freedom Party, may sit in both the Dutch parliament and the European Parliament at least until a court rules on his right to represent voters in both assemblies.

This follows Wilders’ announcement last week that he intends to take up the seat he won in the European Parliament in last month’s elections, but will refuse to resign the seat he already holds in the Dutch national parliament.

This “dual mandate” is against the rules of the European Parliament, but is not against the law in the Netherlands, according to supporters of Wilders, whose party will be in an alliance with Marine Le Pen’s Front National.

However, despite the announcement today by Melle Bakker, director of the Dutch electoral council, the European Parliament may still try to bar Wilders when he arrives in Strasbourg to take his seat at the beginning of the new session on July 1.
