Four Turks arrested in Greece for smuggling migrants
Four Turkish men have been arrested in northwestern Greece after being caught trying to smuggle seven Syrian and Afghan migrants to Italy.
Police said the arrests took place on Sunday as the men helped the immigrants onto a truck on the Athens-Ioannina highway.
One man was driving the truck, another helping him and two more were in a car, acting as lookouts.
According to authorities, the migrants had agreed to pay 5,000 euros in total to be taken to Italy. The four Turkish suspects, aged 36 to 48, were due to face a prosecutor in Ioannina on.
