Immigration Sweden Sweden Democrats

FOREIGN BORN SWEDISH CITIZENS JOINING SWEDEN DEMOCRATS IN DROVES…….

Swedish political elite’s finely crafted meme unraveling.

Oh, and for the record, contrary to what The Local prints, the Sweden Democrats are not an anti-Immigration party, they are for reasonable, managed immigration that meets the needs of Sweden, not the personal open-door agendas of radicals who want to pass out citizenship like candy to the rest of the world and not worry about the ramifications of such irresponsibility for future generations.

Foreign-born Swedes join anti-immigration party

Men with roots outside of Sweden are increasingly attracted to the tough migration stance of the minority Sweden Democrat party, with one new Persian-Swedish member telling The Local why he decided to join.

Nima Ghoulam Ali Pour is at a meeting with his new party colleagues in Malmö but steps outside to speak with The Local. He joined in November, after spending months in self-imposed political party isolation. He left the main opposition party, the Social Democrats, in protest after the election of Islamic Association chair Omar Mustafa to a top-tier position. Mustafa was later forced to resign, but Ghoulam Ali Pour, a frequent blogger and commenter whose work has appeared on The Local, was about to set his sights on the Sweden Democrats.

“Nobody else wants to talk about immigration and culture clashes,” he tells the Local. “I basically joined a party that does talk about it.”

Sveriges Radio journalist Zinat Hashemi on Thursday revealed that Ghoulam Ali Pour is far from alone. Among men with roots outside Europe, 7.4 percent said they sympathized with the Sweden Democrats. The data came from the Statistics Sweden (SCB), the country’s official statistics agency, and while far from a fool-proof way to analyze how Swedes will actually vote next year, the support among foreign-born men for the party had gone up almost three-fold in two years.

This new group of supporters also outnumber, proportionally to the population segment’s size, Swedes with no roots abroad. Among the latter, 6.8 percent said they sympathized with the Sweden Democrats – 0.6 percentage points lower than the support among foreign-born men.

Ghoulam Ali Pour’s family came to Sweden as quota refugees in 1987. His mother had been fired from her job for helping shelter left-wing activists. He says the transition to Sweden had not been easy.

“When you run an entire library in Iran, you’re not very happy about working as a carer at a pre-school…no I don’t think my parents are particularly satisfied,” he says.

While his own family arrived as refugees and would potentially be barred entry if the restrictive immigration policies he now supports were then in force, Ghoulam Ali Pour says he wants labour-market matching to be the guiding light in Sweden’s migration policy. He says that high unemployment in migrant-dense areas risks setting of more incidents such as the unrest in the Stockholm neighbourhood of Husby in May.

  1. When enough Muslims join it will no longer be a Swedish political party and as Islam is incompatible with democracy it will no longer be a democratic party. The hardliners will take over and you will be a step closer to Sharia law. When Ethnic Swedes are no longer the majority it will no longer be logical to call the country Sweden.

  2. Oh dear. How will the Swedish left continue to justify their narrative that the Swedish Democrats are raaaaaacist? How dare that man not fall in line with the multicultural dogma the left is spewing! The horror!

This doesn’t surprise me; there is a similar phenomenon in Canada. Though we don’t have a political party devoted to anti-immigration and nationalism, one often finds that the immigrants who come here and actually contribute to society, and are willing to integrate, flock to the Conservative party. This despite our two left-wing parties constantly pandering to them. Hindus and Sikhs especially are voting for conservative parties on all levels of government more and more. I have more than a few non-white friends who despise open-borders and uncontrolled immigration like the rest of us. Quite a few of them have a particular disgust for Muslims. All this further reinforces the fact that it really is only one immigrant group that is causing disruption… (gee, who would that be?)

If you allow videos to be posted, allow me to show you a Sikh Conservative M.P. who has given numerous speeches on defending Christmas in Canada, and she is one of the few M.P.’s who will send out a “Merry Christmas” video greeting, just to thumb her nose at political correctness. Notice she gets a standing ovation on only one side of the House: that would be her fellow Conservatives while the shameful left-wing parties remain seated.

  3. England,English,Britain,British.
When the country called England no longer has an English population that is a clear majority it will no longer be reasonable to call the country England. Living in England is not the same as being English. To call yourself British when you cannot claim Welsh, Irish, Scottish or English descent is insupportable. In the case of a pure third generation Pakistani immigrant living in England, he is not English and cannot rightly be called an Englishman. He is a person of Pakistani descent living in England and his native land is Pakistan. Nor can he be called British just because his homeland was once part of the British Empire. An Englishman living in Pakistan has no given right to live there and neither does a Pakistani living in England have a legitimate right to live there, his homeland is not England.
