Militant preacher Anjem Choudary has been identified as a leading British influence for the Al Qaeda-linked terrorists who carried out the Kenya shopping mall atrocity, it emerged yesterday.
London-based Choudary, who has been linked to dozens of terrorist suspects, is highlighted in a video issued by East African group Al-Shabaab.
The video also says 11 Britons have died waging jihad in Somalia.
One of the leading figures in Al-Shabaab – blamed for last month’s Nairobi attack which left 67 dead – is ‘white widow’ Samantha Lewthwaite. The whereabouts of Lewthwaite, former wife of 7/7 bomber Jermaine Lindsay, remains a mystery.

Muslim convert who wanted to impose Sharia Law on East End of London threatened to kill non-Muslim passers-by for drinking beer
An enforcer for hate preacher Anjem Choudary yesterday admitted joining a ‘Muslim Patrol’ which threatened to enforce sharia law.
Jordan Horner, 19, was a leading member of a vigilante mob that roamed London’s East End attacking non-Muslims in a campaign against Western culture.
The gang threatened to ‘kill non-believers’ and ‘shank’ or stab them and uploaded videos to YouTube criticising people’s appearance.

Boy, 12, sought over Manchester campus sex attacks
The boy is wanted in connection with three campus sex assaults in ManchesterA boy aged as young as 12 may have carried out several sex attacks around a university campus, police said.
Greater Manchester Police is linking three assaults that have taken place in the past month near the University of Manchester.
A computerised image showing how young the offender was made the incidents “even more shocking”, police said.
The first two attacks took place within 15 minutes of each other on 21 September.
A 27-year-old was approached from behind and grabbed in Lloyd Street North at 18:15 BST before she screamed and the offender ran off.
The next incident followed in Oxford Road when a 21-year-old woman was approached by a boy who made lewd comments as she left John Rylands library.
She carried on walking on Moss Lane East and was sexually assaulted by her assailant who was described as a young boy aged 12 who wore green jeans and glasses.

Taxi driver told to remove St George’s flag sticker by council ‘because it puts those who aren’t English at a disadvantage’
A Newton Abbot taxi driver has been caught up in a row with the council after being banned from having a St George’s Cross sticker in her cab.
Denise Said, 56, has three English flag signs stuck on the doors and boot of her vehicle and has been asked to remove them because they could be interpreted to discriminate against foreigners.

After receiving one complaint she received a letter from the council accusing her of breaching equality laws.
Teignbridge Council in Devon said the stickers, which reads ‘local driver’, would leave anyone who is not English at a ‘disadvantage in their day to day life’.
The local authority says it will refuse to renew Denise’s license in February unless she removes the stickers.
The veteran driver has vowed to keep flying the flag and says there’s nothing offensive about them.
Adding that when she rang Teignbridge Council to remonstrate about the ban she says she was told the stickers were denigrating and offensive to foreigners.
She said: ‘I think it’s pathetic. I believe the council is implying that I am racist but nothing could be further from the truth.
‘I’ve had a few foreign people in my cab and I’ve asked them if they find it offensive and they don’t in the slightest. In fact, one told me “your country has gone mad”.

Barely more than a decade later, she is called the world’s most dangerous woman, the Muslim terrorist known as the “white widow,” thought to have helpedmastermind last month’s terrorist attacks in Nairobi in which 72 people, including several children, were massacred in a popular shopping mall. Rochdale child sex ring: Appeal against sentences refused

Nine men who were part of a child sex ring in Rochdale have been refused leave to appeal against their convictions and jail sentences.
The men from Rochdale and Oldham were jailed for between four and 19 years for offences including rape and conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child in May last year.
Their lawyers claimed a breach in jury confidentiality gave a right to appeal.
However, the Criminal Appeal Office said permission had been refused.
At trial, Judge Gerald Clifton said the men treated the girls, some who were as young as 13, “as though they were worthless and beyond respect”.
“We will kill you Shi’a men and rape your women,” they shouted, according to the source.

The attackers, who are Australians of Lebanese descent, then hit three other men in the group and dragged one into a tent, while choking and kicking him.

The nearest connection Manchester might have with a desert is probably the pop group Oasis.
But a shop in the city’s Moss Side area has started selling camel milk – and its customers cannot get enough of its healthy properties.
It is believed to be the most similar animal milk to the human breast variety and is rich in insulin.
Selling for £6 a pint, the milk – which comes in one-pint containers – is imported from a camel farm in Holland by shopkeeper Lyaket Hassan. He began stocking the drink after a regular customer came in asking for it.
And since he started importing it to his Jumbo Express shop in Moss Side, Manchester, he has seen the drink’s popularity soar.
He now has a core group of customers who come to buy the rare milk, which is sold frozen, from him every week.
