Explosion at Atlanta airport within minutes of reported bomb threat at Ga. State Capitol

ATLANTA – In a space of minutes in Atlanta, a bomb threat was reportedly made at the Georgia State Capitol and a shed exploded at an airport in Atlanta.

Explosion reported inside maintenance shed at Atlanta airport

DEVELOPING: An explosion was reported inside a maintenance shed Tuesday morning at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, MyFoxAtlanta.com reported.

There is no official word on injuries and no confirmed reports of fire or smoke at the scene near Concourse D, which has been evacuated.

Atlanta concourse reopened after ‘small electrical explosion’

Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport says passengers have been allowed to return to Concourse D after it had been evacuated because of an “small electrical explosion” early Tuesday morning.

The airport says there were no injuries in the incident, which occurred around 8:40 a.m. ET.

Janet Ward, a spokeswoman for the Atlanta Fire Department, tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that there was no smoke of fire from the explosion, which caused a power outage in the concourse. usa today
