Iran Muslim persecution of Christians

IRAN FINALLY ADMITS THAT YOUCEF NADARKHANI IS BEING PERSECUTED FOR HIS CHRISTIAN BELIEFS…….

A step in the right direction.

This couldn’t have come at a better time, for not only Mr.Nadarkhani, but for the people of Iran in general. Contrary to the outrageous assertion by a journalist at the Finnish newspaper, the Helsingin Sanomat this past Sunday, in an article titled “Jews have it good in Iran” (11.3.2012), who stated that “religious minorities live in reasonable peace.”, religious minorities in Iran in fact, do not live in reasonable peace.

This recent admission by the Iranians concerning their religious/political campaign against the hapless pastor, who converted from Islam to Christianity, exposes the Helsingin Sanomat’s shoddy journalism. Hopefully some major publication takes notice and singles them out for some much needed and deserved ridicule.

NOTE: In light of the gross ignorance displayed by the Helsingin Sanomat’s article, I would call on the EU and the US to submit a joint motion before the UNGA/UNSC for a general vote for sanctions against Teheran, with the sole intention of bringing this man’s plight to the attention of the international media.

As I sit in a room full of international media and representatives of UN member states at a meeting of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland, listening to Special Rapporteur Dr. Ahmed Shaheed present his report on human rights abuses in Iran, it is clear that ignorance is no longer an excuse for inaction. Without hesitation or trepidation, Special Rapporteur Dr. Shaheed specifically called for Pastor Youcef’s release.
