The thing is, Finnish law enforcement doesn’t list the Somalis who left Finland to fight in the jihad in Somalia. This ‘experts’ thinking is flawed. The main reason no terrorist bomb has gone off in Finland, is that Finland for one thing, is of the political map, it barely raises a blip on the international radar screen. The second reason why is fewer immigrants from Muslim lands. Period. KGS
NOTE: Here’s an oddball episode of a Finnish director with a Somali friend who understands Finnish directing a Somali pirate jogging around a sandy beach in Somalia. The director is the brother of the current Minister of Culture douchebag, Paavo Arhinmäki.
If they can’t find immigrants linked to terrorists in Finland, then they’re just not looking too hard.
Swedish terrorism expert ponders lack of terrorist activity in Finland
Seminar organised on 19th anniversary of 9/11
The calm situation in Finland with respect to terrorism comes as a mystery to the Swedish Security Police (SÄPO).
Malena Rembe, SÄPO’s head analyst of antiterrorist activities, sees both qualitative and quantitative reasons for the situation.
Rembe spoke at a seminar in Stockholm on Monday, which was organised for the media on the theme of changes in terrorism and the fight against it ten years after the 9/11 terror attacks against the United States.
“Finland has much fewer immigrants than Sweden, and they have fewer contacts with terrorist forces abroad”, Rembe said.
Rembe was quick to point out, however, that immigration as such does not cause terrorism. A key issue is how to prevent the radicalisation of new generations of immigrants through dialogue with officials, for instance.
“Sweden undoubtedly has something to learn from Finland in this matter”, Rembe said in an interview with Helsingin Sanomat.
