Vlad sends a Stratfor Report that states: “The device found in a sports utility vehicle in Times Square has been dismantled by a bomb squad, according to a spokesman for the New York City Police Department May 1, MSNBC reported. A New York City firefighter responding to the scene described smoke coming from the vehicle and seeing a “flash” inside the SUV between 6:00 p.m. and 6: 30 p.m. local time, and said the bomb squad stayed on the scene until 9:00 p.m., including a firefighter in a bomb suit. A robot had also been used to investigate the vehicle. Reuters reporters in the area said they heard an explosion from the area of the SUV around 9:15 p.m.”
