“Aino-Taru” (The Story of Aino) by Akseli Gallen-Kallela 1891
Akseli Gallen-Kallela, depicting a scene from Kalevala The compilation of the various old Karelian poems of the Kalevala into one work, is still considered by many Finns, as a national achievement and a treasure. It’s another reason why the Finnish national identity lives on, Finns still maintain a strong attachment to their national heritage, and why shouldn’t they, Finland has a lot to be proud of.
