Austria: Muslim Whining Alert……!

Ah yes, The Mountains of Austria are once again flooded with the sound of a whining Muslim. This time it’s coming from a familiar source to the Tundra Tabloids, it’s none other than Islamist, Omar Al-Rawi, the same guy who propagandizes for the Palestinians.

This time around the SP-councillor in charge of questions of integration of the Austrian Islamic faith community takes a stab at besmirching a woman who talks about the plight of Muslim women under Islamic law, sharia.

According to a very good source known to the Tundra Tabloids as ESW, Omar Al-Rawi has been recently playing the smear game, in which he tries to take advantage of public’s ignorance and label people warning about the dangers of Islamic law….as “Islamophobic”.

ESW translates this latest report: “In an interview with “Die Presse” Al-Rawi refers to the text on the back of the book “Women and the Sharia,” which was co-written by Schirrmacher. It states: “In the name of Sharia, women are circumcised, forced into marriages, raped, imprisoned, stoned or honor killed.” Al-Rawi considers this a generalizing statement: “No one is doing this in the name of Sharia, but in the context of patriarchal structures “.

Instead of showing where the scholar Christine Schirrmacher gets it “all wrong”, Al-Rawi resorts to speaking in generalities and smearing the scholar/author herself. To more seasoned individuals well versed in the subject material, it’s well known that the Quran, Hadiths and the Sunna lend a very big helping hand to the Islamic notion that women are not trust worthy, very devious, not worth the full value of a man, and must be constrained by the male head of the household to ward off any sense of impropriety.

VIENNA. Interventions at events concerning Islam are slowly becoming a habit. The latest case: A lecture in Traun (a small town in Upper Austria) was cancelled last week. Omar Al-Rawi, integration representative of the Islamic community and socialist member of the Vienna city council, had accused speaker Christine Schirrmacher of being an “Islamophobe.”

The Islamic scholar is apparently a well-known anti-Islamic activist belonging to the evangelical “Lausanne movement”. According to Al-Rawi, Evangelics are known for their support of anti-Islamic activities. The consequence: The organizers disinvited the head of the Bonn Institute of Islamic Issues. The justification: The fear of presenting an unobjective of Islam.

The protest against the cancellation was quick to come. Schirrmacher’s criticism of Al-Rawi consists of the fact that his allegations are not supported by quotations from her writings or speeches.
