The Saudi Arabian authorities lay down the gender law against the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, refusing their women under fortyfive, the right to travel to “the Kingdom” unnacompanied by a “close male relative”.
“Singapore women under the age of 45 will no longer be able to travel alone on the annual haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, the Singapore Straits Times reported on Monday. Under Saudi Arabian law, haj-bound Muslim women under the age of 45 must be accompanied by a close male relative.”
Apparently the Kingdom’s “moral system” would fall apart if they allowed younger females to waltz around the heavily restricted gender aparatheid state. In the minds of the Saudis no doubt, the tipping point for no longer engaging in “unruly behaviour” is the big “45”. Why is that, because they’re deemed to be to ugly to raise an eyebrow?
It isn’t by accident that the Saudis, and other Islamic states that think like them, lag behind the rest of the world …in everything. Treating their womenfolk like chattle, will only continue to deprive them of everything that the modern world takes for granted.
