Israeli/Palestinian Conflict

Why Real Democracies Succeed…….

Barry Rubin: There are reasons why some societies succeed and others fail, how some causes triumph and others don’t. When such differences are attributed to conspiracy, Western meanness, or even defeat as a virtue; when being the underdog forgives all vices and the highest praise is to be regarded as victim, these reasons are disparaged. And that, of course, ensures that all the bad notes of history play on into a new century.”

As long as the West keeps playing into the myth of Palestinian victim hood, with the bankrolling of the failed enterprise called the Palestinian Authority (the mother of all oxymoron’s), as proof of their commitment to idiocy, then the conflict will go on.

As long as the West refuses to demand any serious “bench marks” from the Palestinians –in order to gage progress on the building of democratic institutions– and expect that they be met, the conflict will go on.

As long as the Palestinians continue to be a danger to themselves, they will continue to be a danger to Israel, and the conflict will go on. More here, *L* KGS

Update: Kumitonttu notes: “It is simple as that. As you know I am a regular reader of your blog, and very often, just like right now, “Visitors Online” shows someone co reading this with me from Islamistic nations. Currently from Egypt. I want to encourage by this comment your readers from those countries to share their views with us.”

As always, I’m thankful to Kumitonttu for all of his tips, and comments, they always are well thought out and to the point. I too would like very much to hear from the Tundra Tabloids’ Islamic readership.
