Good news in Iraq reported by Time.com. al-Qaida is being rejected in the Anbar Province, the stronghold of the Sunni insurgency in Iraq. This has been developing for some time now. I first heard about the Sunni tribes’ growing disatisfaction with al-Qaida well over a year ago, and it looks like their numbers have grown into a force now able to take care of the headache by themselves and with the central government.
The denying of al-Qaida a base to work from, has been the long term goal of US foreign policy since 9/11, whether they hide in Afghanistan, Somalia or in Iraq. Lets hope that this is the beginning of the point of no return. More here. *L* KGS
