British Islamic Youth Becoming More Intolerant…….

According to the independent think tank, Policy Exchange:

  • 59% of British Muslims would prefer to live under British law, 86% of Muslims feel that “my religion is the most important thing in my life”.
  • 62% of 16-24 year olds feel they have as much in common with non-Muslims as Muslims, compared to 71% of 55+ year olds.
  • 60% of Muslims would prefer to send their children to a mixed state school, compared to 35% who would prefer to send their child to an Islamic school.
  • 59% of Muslims feel they have as much, if not more, in common with non-Muslims in the UK as with Muslims abroad.

But what is worrisome, is the growing trend among British Muslim youth for intolerance towards non-Muslims, radicalism, and a detachment from British society altogether.

  • 36% of 16-24 year olds believe if a Muslim converts to another religion they should be punished by death, compared to 19% of 55+ year olds.
  • 7% “admire organisations like Al-Qaeda that are prepared to fight the West’
  • 13%of 16-24 year olds agreed with this statement compared to 3% of 55+ year olds.
  • 74% of 16-24 year olds would prefer Muslim women to choose to wear the veil, compared to only 28% of 55+ year olds.”

The study also finds that a whopping 84% of British Muslims feel that they have been treated fairly, in spite of all the brouhaha conjured up by certain Muslim groups and the media about the rise in “Islamophobia”. Some have deemed the stricter security measures enacted since 9/11 and the suicide/homicide bombings in London, to be unfairly directed towards Muslims.

While the clear majority of Muslims are law abiding, loyal citizens of the British UK, a worrying trend is developing amongst Britian’s younger generation of Muslims, that no longer see themselves as being a part of British society. This is something that cannot be allowed to go unnoticed or ignored. More here. *L* KGS
