Screw the UN and their islamo-overlords…
Israel has suspended cooperation with UNESCO after it declared a Jewish holy site as Muslim
The site is revered by the Jewish community and Muslims alike, and is known to Jewish people as Temple Mount and to Muslims as the al-Aqsa compound or Haram al-Sharif.
But a draft of the latest version of the resolution, posted on UNESCO’s website and dated October 12, showed the site repeatedly described only by its Muslim names – something Israel claims amounts to a denial of its Jewish history.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in Jerusalem at the time: “The theatre of the absurd at UNESCO continues and today the organisation adopted another delusional decision which says that the people of Israel have no connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.
“To declare that Israel has no connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall is like saying that China has no connection to the Great Wall of China or that Egypt has no connection to the Pyramids,” Netanyahu said.
The Jew hating freak show (SOB’s) at the UN actually did it…..

The executive board of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) passed a Palestinian-initiated resolution on Thursday that ignores Jewish and Christian ties to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall in Jerusalem:
24 UNESCO member states voted in favor of the resolution, 26 abstained, and only six countries voted against.
The proposal, put forth by the Palestinians, along with Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Sudan, condemns Israel on several issues related to Jerusalem and its holy sites.
The draft resolution, a copy of which was obtained by Ha’aretz, acknowledges that the city of Jerusalem is holy to Judaism, Islam, and Christianity but says the Temple Mount holy site is sacred only to Muslims and fails to mention its significance to Jews or Christians
In fact, Ha’aretz writes , an entire section of the proposal dedicated specifically to the Temple Mount complex refers only to the site’s Muslim names (Al-Aqsa Mosque and Haram al-Sharif) and fails to mention its Hebrew or English names (Har HaBayit or Temple Mount).
The resolution refers also to the Western Wall plaza by its Muslim name (al-Buraq plaza) and only mentions its Hebrew-Jewish name (Hakotel Hama’aravi) later in quotation marks.
More here. Normal people should just ignore the UN, while demanding that their politicians increase pressure to leave it.
There’s a special type of evil at the UN, and a place in hell for all of its most full throated supporters…..
UNESCO resolution expected to pass not only denies Temple Mount’s Jewish ties, but also portrays Western Wall as Muslim holy site.

Half a year after the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) accepted an initial resolution denying the Temple Mount’s place in Jewish history and the Jewish faith, the UN body is expected to pass another measure on Thursday portraying the Western Wall as a Muslim holy site.
In a recent UNESCO meeting, Arab states and the Palestinian Authority have pushed a new resolution, explicitly describing the Temple Mount as an exclusively Muslim holy site, referring to the site of both ancient Jewish temples by its Arabic name: Haram a-Sharif.
This time, however, the proposed UNESCO resolution also touches upon the Western Wall that surrounds the Temple Mount. Like the Temple Mount, the Western Wall is also referred to by the Arabic name, with the Hebrew name included in brackets.
Israeli diplomats called the move an attempt to discredit the ancient Jewish connection to the Western Wall in the eyes of the international community.
The resolution does recognize the importance of Jerusalem in general to the three major Abrahamic faiths, but observers noted that this was likely an attempt to make an otherwise transparently anti-Israel measure appear more balanced. The order of faiths mentioned in connection to Jerusalem is Islam, Christianity, and Judaism last.
Israeli diplomats have criticized previous efforts by UNESCO to deny the Jewish ties to historical sites in Jerusalem.
Earlier this week, US lawmakers including Texas Senator Ted Cruz launched a bipartisan effort against the planned UNESCO resolution.
The 21 members of UNESCO’s world heritage committee (Angola, Azerbaijan, Burkina Faso, Croatia, Cuba, Finland, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Tunisia, Turkey, Tanzania, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe) have an Arab (supremacist) resolution before them which denies Jewish ties to the Western Wall of the Temple Mount.
How will Finland vote?
GENEVA, July 10, 2016 — United Nations Watch, a Geneva-based watchdog organization, expressed concern today that UNESCO may fuel anti-Jewish incitement and violence, and the increasing Palestinian denial of Jewish religious and cultural rights, by adopting an Arab-sponsored draft resolution that denies Jewish ties to Jerusalem’s Western Wall and Temple Mount.
The Jordanian-Palestinian draft text on the Old City of Jerusalem was submitted to the 21-member World Heritage Committee, which meets over the next 10 days in Istanbul for its 40th annual session.
“This inflammatory resolution risks encouraging the past year’s wave of Palestinian stabbing and shooting attacks in Jerusalem and other parts of Israel, which began with false claims that Israel was planning to damage holy Muslim shrines,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch.
Under the battle cry of “Al-Aqsa mosque is in danger,” incitement in September by Fatah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad sparked a wave of terror attacks across Israel which began on the Temple Mount and eastern Jerusalem. At least 40 have been killed and more than 500 wounded. The Palestinian attacks include 155 stabbings, 96 shootings, 45 car ramming attacks, and one bus bombing.
The draft now before UNESCO includes the following problematic language:
And night is day and ignorance is strength……

And by the looks of it……..
Screw the UN, kick their offices out of the country……..
The ideological perfidy and wilful ahistoricism of the United Nations and its affiliate entities was on despicable display again last week when an official resolution by a U.N. body referred to Israel as an “occupying power” of the famous Temple Mount in Jerusalem, among other outrageous indignities.
As a large part of a broader, virulently anti-Israel resolution, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) refused even to refer to the Temple Mount as such, instead adopting the Arabic title, the “Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram al-Sharif” – while refusing to even acknowledge the factually undeniable, age-old Jewish links to the famous Western Wall and its environs.
The resolution even complained about Israeli plans to build what the Times of Israeldescribed as “an egalitarian prayer service space” at the nearby, remarkably handsome Robinson’s Arch.
This is worse than tendentious; it’s vicious. There is no doubt – historical, archaeological, cultural, or religious – that the Temple Mount and especially the Western Wall is, in toto, the single holiest site for all Judaism, the very location most central to the entire religion. By comparison, the Al-Aqsa Mosque there is considered only the third holiest site for Islam, which can point to no historically verifiable connection to the site until well after Islam was founded.
UNESCO is bordering on being bonkers.
I agree with Vlad, this shows just how much these international institutions have been corrupted by the Arab League and the OIC. They deem the simple reinforcement of the already blasted away statues as ‘bordering on criminal’, that is all we need to know about UNESCO.
NOTE: It could be said that they’re only reinforcing the base of the Taliban’s target for future shooting practice with heavy cannon.

The international community has reacted furiously to news that a German-led team of archaeologists has been reconstructing the feet and legs of the smaller of the two Bamiyan Buddhas, the monumental Afghan sculptures blown up by the Taliban in 2001. News of this reconstruction, which has taken place without Unesco’s knowledge or permission, was revealed during the 12th meeting of Unesco’s Bamiyan working group, in Orvieto, Italy, in December.
A team of archaeologists from the German branch of Icomos (the International Council on Monuments and Sites), led by Michael Petzet, who himself served as the head of Icomos from 1999 to 2008, spent most of last year rebuilding the smaller Buddha’s lower appendages with iron rods, reinforced concrete and bricks, an operation that Francesco Bandarin, Unesco’s assistant director-general for culture, describes as “wrong on every level”. He says: “Unesco has nothing to do with this project. It was undertaken without the consent of the Afghan government and has now been stopped.”
Andrea Bruno, the architectural consultant to Unesco for the past 40 years, confirms that the work was carried out “against Unesco’s decision [taken in 2011] not to rebuild the Buddhas” and says the organisation was never made aware that the project was going ahead. Bruno says the work has caused “irreversible damage, bordering on the criminal”. He adds that the work had not yet started when he visited Afghanistan last March.
Petzet told The Art Newspaper that he and his team “just wanted to preserve what can be preserved”. He says: “Everything we have done was discussed with the Afghan authorities: this [project] is nothing new.” However, Bandarin says that the Afghan minister of culture was not aware of the work when Bandarin asked him to put a stop to it.
UNESCO’s pulling of Jewish exhibit is product of classic Jew hatred.
This is about (as it’s rightly stated in the article) the total elimination of the Jewish narrative (and correct narrative I might add). This coincides with the OIC’s usurpation of human rights (industry), as well as denial of Islamic antisemitism while it carves out the pre-eminent position of victim hood for its member states whose beliefs (Islam 101) are the chief driving forces of discrimination, terror and outright murder. For Jews, Christians and other religious groups wanting to maintain their cultural heritage and identity, its islamofauxbia.

Not surprised but shocked. That’s how Shimon Samuels, Director of International Relations at the Simon Weisenthal Center, described his reaction to the abrupt cancelation on the eve of the exhibition “People, book, land / The 3,500 year relationship of the Jewish People with the Holy Land.” The exhibition, co-sponsored by the SWC and UNESCO, had been elaborated over a two-year period under the watchful eyes of a series of more or less knowledgeable scholars appointed by UNESCO to weed out any word, image, idea or pebble that might “offend.” For example, “Israel” in the title had to be changed to the “Holy Land.”
This and countless other painful concessions granted in the interest of harmony were not enough to spare the sensitivity of the 22 Arab delegations. In a letter addressed to UNESCO’s Director-General Irina Bokova six days before the scheduled opening, they demanded cancelation of the exhibition on the grounds that the “eminently political” theme, which is the “warhorse of the anti-peace camp” in Israel, is detrimental to the negotiations currently spurred by Secretary of State John Kerry. Lacking the courage to oppose the injunction but apparently ashamed of obeying it, Madame Bokova postponed the exhibition… indefinitely.
JEW HATING CARTOON PUBLISHED BY RICHARD FALK, UNITED NATIONS SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR ON HUMAN RIGHTS
They had come to Paris for the January 20th inauguration; instead of which they spoke their minds to a slim audience of journalists and members of civil society in a meeting room of a hotel near the Champs Elysées.
“A slap in the face to every Jew,” declared Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Weisenthal Center. And not only to Jews, attested by the presence of two members of the Honorary Committee, the Algerian novelist Boualem Sansal and the Archbishop emeritus of Canterbury, Lord Carey of Clifton. Sansal is not surprised by the last-minute attack mounted by the Arab delegations. “They did the same thing to me.” Initially awarded the prize for the Arab novel, created by Arab ambassadors to France, Sansal was rejected at the last minute because he had attended the International Writers Festival in Jerusalem. He is calling for an investigation into the shameful behavior of Irina Bokova, an insult to UNESCO, to the authors and sponsors of the exhibition, to French authorities who were supposed to attend the inauguration, and to Arab nations for giving in to their worst impulses.
Rabbi Cooper outlined the meticulous vetting process imposed on the distinguished Hebrew University scholar Robert Wistrrich, author of the exhibition. He held up photos of some of the panels: beginning with “Children of Abraham,” “Biblical Prophets,” “If I forget thee ô Jerusalem: Science, Technology &Human Values,” and ending with “A People of Hope.”
THE ISAIAH SCROLL FROM THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS
There has been an outpouring of messages of support from individuals and groups, including members of the U.S. Congress. The American ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, objects to the cancelation and wants to bring to the UN headquarters in New York. However, the State Department had declined an invitation to join the sponsors—Israel, Canada, and Montenegro—on grounds strangely similar to those expressed by the Arab contingent of UNESCO, namely that the exhibition could somehow disturb the ongoing peace negotiations.
On the contrary, says Rabbi Cooper, telling the truth about the history of the Jewish people is necessary. “Diplomats sign treaties but people make peace. They have to respect each other’s narratives.” He reminds us of a credo shared with Shimon Samuels and inspired by the example of Simon Weisenthal: we are prepared to stand in ceremonies of remembrance of dead Jews if we are shown respect for living Jews. Rabbi Cooper concluded forthrightly: “UNESCO blew it big time!”
They folded like a cheap suit after the whining started.
I should hope that our dear friends in these organizations would come to recognize the difficult truth, that Arab antisemitism, is nothing more than a reflection of their Islamic teachings. That the Jews are the devil incarnate in Islam, with every known negative human trait becoming the exclusive ownership of the Jews themselves.
NOTE: Every European country should withhold funds from UNESCO, but they won’t, to scared to piss off the crazy sheiks.
UNESCO, the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization, has pulled a Jewish exhibit two years in the making, entitled “People, Book, Land – The 3,500 Year Relationship of the Jewish People and the Land of Israel,” after a zero hour protest from the Arab League, The Algemeiner has learned.
The exhibit, which was created by Los Angeles-based Jewish human rights group the Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC) together with UNESCO, was scheduled to open on January 20th, 2014, at UNESCO’s Paris headquarters. The invitations had already gone out, and the fully prepared exhibition material was already in place. The display was co-sponsored by Israel, Canada and Montenegro.
Rabbi Marvin Hier, Dean of the SWC, told The Algemeiner that the move was an “absolute outrage.” “The Arabs,” he said, “don’t want the world to know that the Jews have a 3,500-year relationship to the Land of Israel.”
NOTE: Rabbi, it would be more accurate to say that: ”In a world ruled by Islam, there is no room for Jews, let alone Jewish history, anything deemed not Islamic must be usurped or destroyed.”
This is a translation into Finnish by JS of Bat Ye’or’s seminal piece concerning the Palestinization of UNESCO. KGS
Bat Ye’or (marraskuu 2011)
Tammikuussa 1981 Islamilaisen yhteistyöjärjestön (Organization of Islamic Cooperation, OIC) huippukokous Mekassa julisti, että “muslimikansojen tulisi nähdä Palestiina perustavaa laatua olevana asiana”. Siitä ajankohdasta alkaen myös Eurooppa kiiruhti omaksumaan tämän tien, ryhtyen palestinisoimaan Euroopan kulttuurista, sosiaalista ja ennen kaikkea poliittista elämää.
Well done you bunch of immoral a-holes.
The UN is an entirely corrupt institution that should no longer have any relevancy in world affairs, that’s why the TT lampoons it on a regular basis. Those who give it high praise are either ignorant or love its environment, being as corrupt as the EU itself. There is no middle ground here, you can’t spend years within that institution (attention all EU loving Finns that regularly read this blog) and not know what is going on.
That’s why any public official who has had extensive dealings with it, and never heard offering any criticism of the corruption that goes on there, must like what he or she sees, it’s as simple as that.
The move by Abbas for unilateral recognition as a member state to the UN, as well as membership to UNESCO, are to be seen as calculated moves to further erode US and Israeli legitimacy on the world stage. (There was never a real quest for real statehood).
Ever since the UN was founded upon the ashes of the League Of Nations, that has been the strategy of the totalitarians, it has only expanded and intensified since the Cold War years to become what it is today. A freak show.
To prove my point, at a time when the Syrian regime is hunting down citizens in the anti-Assad regime movement, with thousands having been killed over the past months, the UN’s UNESCO organization thought it prudent to allow Syria to join its committee on human rights. It’s a real sick, cruel joke, but that’s par for the course for the UN.
UNESCO membership for the P.A., however, will come at a price as the report predicts, but it might really snowball into something even better (and rightfully so) if (I say when) the Republicans take back the White House and Congress. Conservatives within the Republican party take a very dim view of the UN in general, and towards totalitarians in particular, making the PA an automatic pariah for the next US administration if real conservatives makes it into the WH and Congress. We can always hope. KGS
Implications for UNESCO Unless the shortfall is made up by other donors, the closure of some UNESCO operations around the world may be likely because of cuts in US aid. With its strong commitment to freedom of expression and information, UNESCO may come under renewed criticism for its inclusion of the PA, which has a history of curbing journalistic freedoms in the West Bank and Gaza. If UNESCO fails to hold the PA to the same ethical standards as other members, the agency could be accused of double standards.
Finland’s 60’s radical Erkki Tuomioja had a big hand in steering the government cabinet’s foreign and security policy committee to vote in favor of Palestinian membership in UNESCO. He’s a menace. KGS
Räsänen is critical of Finnish voting behaviour because Unesco membership will raise the profile of Palestine and thus, she believes, raise tensions.
“Raising the profile of Palestine towards that of an independent state in a confrontational manner can intensify the Middle East conflict and block the compromises needed to find peace,” said the Interior Minister.
She added that in her opinion, Finland should have voted against membership for Palestine or abstained during the vote.
Päivi Räsänen said she considers it important that Palestine should fulfill the conditions of rejecting terrorism, recognizing the State of Israel and recognizing earlier agreements. This was the second reason she gave for judging the Finnish vote as wrong.
The Interior Minister went on to stress the role of the president in Finnish foreign policy.
“Finland’s foreign policy is led by the president in cooperation with the government. In practice, the position of the president is still very strong. The matter of recognizing statehood for Palestine will probably be left for the term of the president elected this coming spring,” Räsänen stated in a press release.
That’s a shame, the Finns party under Timo Soini wouldn’t have allowed for such a thing to occur. The SDP in conjunction with the National Coalition told it rep to vote in favor of the motion, so all those pro-Israel Finns who belong to those parties better do some deep reflecting of their continued support, and their disparaging pf the Finns party.
[Finland voted in favor: “Most of these are no surprise, although it is worth noting the division in Europe, with Spain, France, Ireland, Austria, Finland and Greece voting “yes”]

I would like to take the time to remind everyone that this antisemite, Farouk Hosni, enjoys a top governmental post within the Egyptian government. Though the man is described as a reformer and as a *moderate Muslim*, he is also a dyed in the wool antisemitic racist.
All the more troubling, is this is a state that’s supposedly at peace with the state of Israel, but one of the worst offending states that disseminate anti-Jewish propaganda, and an OIC member state! These Muslim antisemitic states are regularly given the red carpet treatment by the West, with the label of ‘moderate’ used to describe their kind of rule.
As far as the Tundra Tabloids is concerned, any state that involves itself with antisemitism, by allowing its official governmental organs to disseminate antisemitism and/or elevate known antisemites to key positions within its government, should be shunned by the international community. But, it will never happen, because at the end of the day, most Western governments view state relations with the Islamic world to be of much more importance than antisemitism.
Such ingrained thinking helps to explain why the Finnish Institute for Foreign Affairs (UPI) invited the leader of the overtly antisemitic OIC, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, and shoved down the memory hole the overtly bigoted statements by visiting sec-gen, that only non-Muslims could be antisemitic, but never a Muslim, even the kind that shout:
“I hate those motherf—–s, those f—ing Jewish bastards. . . . I would like to get [destroy] a synagogue.”
Egypt’s Culture Minister Farouk Hosni is a leading candidate to take over UNESCO in the fall. An alliance of intellectuals and Jewish groups from France, Germany and Israel are up in arms over the possibility due to remarks made by him perceived to be anti-Israeli.
It’ll soon be time for a new boss at UNESCO, the world’s pre-eminent cultural preservation organization. But German cultural and Jewish groups are worried about the candidate currently favored to win the top spot: Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni.
In a statement released on Monday, the German Culture Council — an umbrella organization of cultural organizations in Germany — expressed concern over Hosni’s candidacy due to his history of anti-Semitic statements.
“Choosing Farouk Hosni as the new director of UNESCO would be a mistake,” said Olaf Zimmermann, head of the Culture Council. UNESCO is on the verge of putting into practice the Convention on Cultural Diversity. A responsibility like that shouldn’t be trusted to someone who hasn’t fully internalized the ideals of UNESCO.”
Hosni, an artist by trade, has been Egypt’s Culture Minister since 1987. He is known for being a liberal voice in Egyptian politics, opposing the veil for Egyptian women for example. But he has also made anti-Israeli statements in the past. Last year, he said he would “burn Israeli books in Egyptian libraries.”
