Sharia law may stop MPs drinking: Bars will be banned if politicians move to Department of Health – because of secret deal to finance Islamic bond scheme

  • Department of Health building is governed by the body of Islamic law

Barred: MPs have been warned that drinking will be banned if they move into the Department of Health

MPs could be forced to stop drinking alcohol when they move out of the Palace of Westminster while it undergoes much-needed repairs over the next decade – because of Sharia law.

Earlier this week plans were revealed for MPs to be rehoused in a temporary chamber in a courtyard in the Department of Health, but it has emerged that the building is governed by Islamic law.

The building, located at 79 Whitehall, was quietly transferred to finance an Islamic bond scheme in 2014.

Under terms of the lease, alcohol is one of the activities banned on the premises, according to The Times.

A Whitehall official told the newspaper: ‘It’s true. If MPs want to use Richmond House they’d better give up any hopes it will include a bar.’

Richmond House is one of three Whitehall buildings that were transferred to the £200million Islamic bond scheme, which switched their ownership from British taxpayers to wealthy Middle Eastern businessmen and banks.

George Osborne announced the move in June 2014 as part of an effort to make the UK a global hub for Islamic finance.

But critics say the scheme would waste money and could undermine Britain’s financial and legal systems by imposing Sharia law onto government premises.

The bonds – known as Sukuk – are only available for purchase by Islamic investors.

The money raised will be repayable from 2019.

But instead of interest, bond-buyers will earn rental income from the three Government offices as interest payments are banned in Sharia law.

The proposal to move to the Department of Health is among the most popular because it is housed just 100 yards from the Commons entrance and many MPs' offices are in the adjacent building at 1 Parliament Street

Detective ‘was taped warning alleged child grooming victim that police officers who saw her being abused would not give evidence – because they might get in trouble for not stopping it’

An alleged victim of Arshid Hussain, pictured seating in wheelchair, recorded police officers when she went to make a complaint about him

An alleged victim of Arshid Hussain, pictured seating in wheelchair, recorded police officers when she went to make a complaint about him

  • Five men and two women are on trial over alleged grooming ring
  • One of the complainants recorded police when she made a complaint
  • Transcript shown to jury says detective told her police wouldn’t testify
  • He said officers wouldn’t make statements if they thought they would ‘get in the s***’ for not acting

A detective in the Rotherham abuse case was recorded by an alleged victim saying police wouldn’t give evidence in case they got in trouble for not acting sooner, a court heard.

Arshid Hussain is one of five men and two women standing trial over an alleged grooming ring in the South Yorkshire town from 1987 to 2003.

Sheffield Crown Court heard that one of the complainants in the case recorded a policeman involved in the investigation on her mobile phone in 2013 as she spoke about Hussain.

The woman, who is now 30, is said to have told police that she had been found having sex with Hussain aged just 14 on a day she was arrested for stealing.

She asked police to look into whether there were any records from the police who found her, showing she was with the defendant, the Sheffield Star reported.

But, in a transcript provided to the jury, DC Lee Robinson said: ‘If they walked in there and they saw you were having sex on the floor and they know you’re only 14 and they’ve seen this Asian male, if they put that in a statement, they know full well they’re going to get in the s*** because why didn’t they do something about that?’

He went on: ‘It may be that if we went to speak to that person, they might turn around and say, “I didn’t see anything like that”,’ the court heard.

He later added: ‘Opinions have changed now. Now we identify that as child abuse. Before they’d see it as sort of a lovesick teenager who keeps going back to this fella.’

Earlier in the trial, the jury heard that police allegedly missed the chance to spare another young girl an appalling sexual abuse ordeal by accusing her of lying when she turned to them for help.

Finally something from Piers Morgan worthwhile repeating……

King Salman of Saudia Arabia can allow 50 people to be beheaded last month and nobody in the corridors of British officialdom batted a public eyelid. Yet he is treated like some kind of deity when he arrives in Britain in his fleet of gold-plated jets.

Russian President Vladimir Putin commits and spouts all manner of despicable, murderous, bigoted things and Britain welcomes him with State dinners at Buckingham Palace and handshakes outside Downing Street.

PIERS MORGAN: Why I’m so embarrassed today for Britain. The same parliament that hasn’t banned a single UK citizen from returning after fighting for ISIS is seriously debating banning Trump from its shores

PIERS MORGAN: Why I’m so embarrassed today for Britain

PIERS MORGAN: As I write this column, members of the UK Parliament (right) are debating whether or not to ban Donald Trump (bottom left) from entering Britain. They’ve allocated three hours of time to do this. Time that could have been spent debating terrorism, famine, nuclear weapons, the Middle East refugee crisis or the Syrian War. But no, instead British law-makers have concluded their own time is best served seriously considering a proposal to ban a man who may end up being the next President of the United States.

The reason they’re doing it is, of course, is because Trump recently called for a temporary ban on all Muslims entering the U.S. in the wake of an horrific mass shooting by two Islamic terrorists.

Like many, I didn’t agree with what Trump said and indeed, I wrote him an open letter at the time saying it was ‘dangerously wrong and bigoted’.

But to ban a foreign politician for expressing an opinion is utterly absurd. Particularly a foreign politician who stands an increasingly good chance of becoming leader of the world’s biggest superpower and Britain’s supposedly closest, most powerful ally.

Can you imagine a situation where President Trump, if he is elected, is actually banned? It would make Britain the laughing stock of the world, and confirm to Americans that we’re just as pathetically petty and small pond in our thinking as you’ve always suspected.

It would also cause serious, probably irreparable damage to Britain’s relationship with the United States.

The sheer hypocrisy in all this ‘Ban Trump’ nonsense is breathtaking.

Britain throws down the red carpet and blares out the royal bugles all the time for leaders of countries with heinous human rights records.

NOTE: A temporary ban on Muslims entering the US is not an unreasonable request, especially in light of violent and stealth jihad. No one has a ”right” to immigrate to the US, a sovereign nation determines its own immigration policy, or at least it should.

Saudi Arabia was omitted from an official UK campaign against the death penalty despite the number of executions it carries out.

The oil-rich state was the only major country with the death penalty left off a Whitehall list to be challenged by diplomats, it emerged last night.

Those given a greater priority than Saudi Arabia, which carried out 158 executions last year, included Barbados, Singapore and Jordan which passed fewer than ten death sentences between them in 2014.

The revelation comes as a dangerous rift between Saudi Arabia and Iran deepened last night over the execution of a prominent Muslim cleric.

Nimr al-Nimr, a Shia imam, was one of 47 convicts executed by beheading or firing squad at 12 separate Saudi prisons last weekend.

The fallout threatens to destabilise the entire Middle East after Iran, which mainly adheres to the Shia branch of Islam, said Sunni-run Saudi would face ‘divine vengeance’. Saudi Arabia cut its diplomatic and trade ties with Tehran yesterday and suspended all commercial flights.

Its allies Bahrain and Sudan also severed diplomatic ties with Iran, and the United Arab Emirates recalled its ambassador.

Hand of friendship: Jeremy Corbyn would invite Donald Trump to his local mosque

The Labour leader spoke out after 500,000 people – and his own minister – called for the ‘extremist’ right-winger to be blocked from Britain

Jeremy Corbyn has said Donald Trump should not be banned from Britain – because he’d rather take him to his local mosque.

The Labour leader spoke out after more than 500,000 people called for the ‘extremist’ right-winger to be blocked for saying no Muslims should be allowed into the US.

His own shadow home affairs minister, Jack Dromey, joined calls for a ban telling the Mirror the “dangerous fool” should not come “within 1,000 miles of our shores”.

But in an interview to mark his first 100 days as Labour leader, Mr Corbyn said a ban would not be the right answer.

A social worker is used to decide on whether or not  a muslim family should be allowed to stay in the country, though they tried to join up with Islamic State in Syria. What planet is the government residing on, and who is this doofus social worker that is such a brilliant judge in character?

The social worker wrote: “It is my assessment that the intervention of the state has been a wake-up call for this couple. Their current beliefs do not pose a risk or compromise the safety of their children. “[They] are good parents and they are able to care for all their children. I see no reason whatsoever to remove the children from their care.”

A couple of committed Islamists and keen followers of radical Imam Anjem Choudary who attempted to take their children into a war zone and join ISIS, will be allowed to keep their passports and young children a family court ruled yesterday.

In the first ruling of its kind, Sir James Munby, the most senior family court judge in England and Wales, said the family will have their passports returned as parents Asif Malik, 31, and Sara Kiran, 29, posed no threat to the welfare of their children – daughter Zoha, seven, and three sons Essa, four, Zakariva, two, and Yahya, one.

Sir James said they had “put the incident behind them”, The Times reports.

Mr Malik was photographed outside Regent’s Park mosque last January holding a placard which read: “Muslims will destroy the crusade and establish the Islamic state!” andoutside the Lebanese embassy in May last year with one stating: “Stop Terrorism Against Sunnis… Islamic State Is The Solution.”

He was a member of the banned extremist group al-Mujahiroun, founded by the infamous Anjem Choudary who is currently being detained on charges of recruiting for terrorist organisations, and had links to Abu Rahin Aziz, an Islamic State fighter from Luton killed in a US drone strike in July.

The mere fact of being a non-muslim, and rejecting ever becoming one, is in fact an act of islamofauxbia itself, doesn’t dawn on these political hacks who preside over the downfall of the West.

The very essence of free speech is the right (which is not granted by king or parliament, but are inalienable) to challenge and criticize both religious and political power. Right now the the fruits of the Enlightenment which has resulted in the greatest achievements in recorded human history (modern day society), are being traded away for supposed security.

NOTE: Hate speech laws are built to suppress that which the government deems as a threat to its own hegemony. When the state can’t hope to win an argument, they take their opponent to court (a political show trial) in order to smear and label him for life, thereby removing the nuisance to their rule in the most cruelest of ways..

Change In Recording Of Anti-Muslim Hate Crimes

Offences will be recorded as a separate category by police, bringing Islamophobia in line with anti-Semitic attacks.

06:04, UK,Tuesday 13 October 2015

New figures are expected to show an increase in the number of hate crimes

Anti-Muslim hate crimes will be recorded as a separate category for the first time by police, David Cameron has announced.

The move brings Islamophobia in line with anti-Semitic attacks, which have been recorded separately for some time.

It comes as the Home Office prepares to unveil new figures which are expected to show an increase in the number of hate crimes over the last year, continuing a trend seen in 2013/14.

In that period, offences involving religious hatred rose by 45% and race hate crime by 4% in the aftermath of the murder of soldier Lee Rigby in London in May 2013.

Campaigners say there has also been an increase in reports of hate crimes against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender victims in recent months.

The PM has revealed he will provide new funding to improve security at religious buildings, as he hosted the first meeting of a new Community Engagement Forum at Downing Street.

So we don’t know what was said to judge for ourselves if any lines were crossed.

The moment when the government decides that it’s the sole arbitrator of what’s allowed to be spoken (not the civil society itself), is the moment you live within a tyranny.

Check this out, here’s a story (h/t: Vlad) about a person arrested for saying ”racist things” against Muslims, but the story contains not one mention of what was actually said. It’s full censorship on display, with the reader left completely unable to discern the actual facts of the incident. Stunning, but that is what modern day journalism has descended to.

“She told police she was demonstrating against Islam because they were ‘grooming and murdering our children’,” Ms Allan said.

“She went on to express some extremist views about Muslims.”

Gary McAnulty, defending, said his client previously attended English Defence League demonstrations. He said there was no one else present except for the police.

He said: “This was the first time she had attended anything organised by the North West Infidels.

“They are a splinter group and very right wing compared to the EDL. It would appear there was no one there except the police.

Founding editor of award-winning paper sacked in freedom of speech row

Brian Wilson, the former Labour minister, dismissed from the paper he set up for defending a fellow columnist’s right to freedom of expression

Brian Wilson

Brian Wilson founded the West Highland Free Press in 1972 with four others Photo: Photoshot

In a plot line worthy of Scoop, Evelyn Waugh’s satire on journalism, the founding editor of an award-winning Highland paper has been sacked over his defence of freedom of speech.

Brian Wilson, the former Labour MP, has written for the West Highland Free Press for 38 of its 43 years, since founding it with four others in 1972.

The only gap in contributions came when he was a minister in Tony Blair’s government.

He was dismissed for using his weekly column to defend his friend and fellow columnist, the Free Church of Scotland theologian Prof Donald Macleod, after he wrote about the spread of Islam in the UK.

With 62 years of contributions between them, readers could have been forgiven for thinking they were in with the bricks at the paper’s headquqarters in Broadford on the Isle of Skye.

But in a newspaper sacking possibly without precedent, the weekly paper chose to publish both offending columns before getting rid of both contributors.

The very Highland stramash prompted outrage and incredulity on Twitter, with a baffled Gary Robertson, the BBC Radio Scotland presenter, asking: “Did they sub and publish the column?”

Mofaz lands in London without incident, is met by Israeli embassy staff

Former IDF chief and defense minister Shaul Mofaz landed in London late Saturday, where he was met by Israeli embassy staff who escorted him to his hotel.

Mofaz, who arrived in London on a British Airways flight from Tel Aviv, went through customs and border control without any problems.

Earlier on Saturday, Israeli television reported that Mofaz is at risk of being detained on possible war crimes charges since Israeli authorities had tried and failed to secure diplomatic immunity for him on his trip to London.

The former defense minister, who retired from politics and is thus a private citizen, is in London to appear at a conference.

Channel 2 had reported earlier Saturday that Israeli diplomats were feverishly working to prevent Mofaz’s.

Israeli officials are concerned about an arrest warrant being issued against Mofaz during his stay in the United Kingdom.

Mofaz was chief of staff during the second intifada. After entering politics, he assumed the post of defense minister.

Four years ago, the British government approved a change to the controversial universal jurisdiction law, used by activists to obtain arrest warrants for alleged war crimes aimed at Israeli dignitaries who visit the UK.

UKIP has launched a hard-hitting poster that criticises Labour for the Rotherham child abuse scandal in which 1,400 children were abused between 1997 and 2013.

The poster, which forms part of the campaign for Jack Clarkson, UKIP’s candidate in the forthcoming South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner election, depicts a distraught girl and reads “There are 1,400 reasons why you should not trust Labour again.”

The Rotherham scandal was revealed in a report in August, with the town’s Labour-run administration largely blamed for ignoring that scale of the abuse for years. The subsequent public outcry eventually led to South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Shaun Wright resigning, thus forcing a by-election to replace him on 30 October.

I’m sick to death of these spineless western leaders who are completely without sound conservative principles, who are prone to listen to the loudest shrill voice in the room as reason enough to contemplate one policy or another. They’re void of any sense of history and human experience, from them, history begins the moment they wake up in the morning.

UK Won’t Sell Weapons to Israel, Will Sell Weapons to Gaddafi, Iran and Pakistan

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

David Cameron, China

The UK is all about human rights. That’s why it warned Israel that if Hamas breaks the ceasefire again, it will shut down some weapons export licenses to Israel.

But maybe Israel will just be able to get them secondhand from some of the UK arms industry’s clients. A group that includes China, Zimbabwe, Iran and Sudan.

Sudan has committed actual genocide.

Is there anyone the UK won’t sell weapons to besides Israel? It sold weapons to Gaddafi.

Ministers approved the export of sniper rifles, bullets, tear gas and other ‘crowd control’ ammunition to Tripoli shortly before the murderous dictator ordered his military to crush a pro-democracy uprising.

Britain also approved arms licenses totalling £1.7billion to Saudi Arabia, £20.4million to Egypt, £276.9million to Algeria and £52.8million to the United Arab Emirates.

Body armour and night vision goggles have been approved for Yemen, small arms ammunition for Syria, and sniper rifles, aircraft components and armoured personnel carriers for Saudi Arabia.

Yes, that Syria.

In 2011, PM Cameron actually took UK arms manufacturers along on his trip to the Middle East to drum up business. The UK was closely involved in trying to get Gaddafi to buy their gear.

Documents found by The Sunday Telegraph show that in December last year, Britain’s ambassador in Tripoli was directly encouraging high-ranking figures within the Libyan army to visit Britain and view military equipment, including rifles and machine guns.

Richard Northern, Britain’s top diplomat in the Libyan capital, was joined by Maj Gen Jonathan Shaw, the Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff at the Ministry of Defence, for talks with the Libyan official in charge of buying weapons for Col Muammar Gaddafi’s army.

The same kind of guns were to be used weeks later by Gaddafi’s troops and security men to shoot demonstrators and residents in towns that joined the insurrection.

This wasn’t unique.

The UK arms industry’s client list reads like a complete horror show. It even allowed the export of nerve gas components to Syria.

So yes, let’s now sanction Israel for fighting back in the event that Hamas begin shelling Israeli villages. Now let’s get another order of weapons together for China and Saudi Arabia.

We’ve got to be moral, you see.

And Russia, despite those sanctions, the licenses are still in place.

From the land of Lord Nelson, Churchill and Thatcher.

Liberal Democrat MP David Ward has caused more controversy after tweeting advice to Hamas on how to deal with Lt Hadar Goldin, the Israeli soldier they captured yesterday.

Ward, whose party is part of Britain’s coalition government, tweeted yesterday evening: “# Hamas – you have a prisoner of war – the world is watching you – behave better than #Israel”.

His tweet is likely to stoke anger for numerous reasons. First, it is debatable whether Lt Goldin is genuinely a prisoner of war as he was captured during a truce, meaning it would be more accurate to consider him a kidnap victim.

Observers will also be angered by the fact that his tweet insinuates Israel would treat a prisoner of war worse than Hamas, and that he considers a terrorist organisation could behave better than UN-member liberal democracy.

This is the latest in a long line of controversial comments by Ward on the subject of Israel. Last week, he caused uproar after saying he would fire rockets at Israel if he were in Gaza: “The big question is – if I lived in #Gaza would I fire a rocket? – probably yes”.

Charges Against Liberty GB’s Leader Paul Weston Are Dropped

by Enza Ferreri

Paul Weston, candidate at the 22 May European Elections in the South East constituency and leader of the Liberty GB party, who was arrested in Winchester, Hampshire, on the 26 April, has had the charges against him dropped.

Mr Weston was arrested for publicly quoting an excerpt critical of Islam from the book The River War by Winston Churchill. After spending several hours in a cell at Winchester Police Station, he was charged with Racially Aggravated Crime, under Section 4 of the Public Order Act, which carries a potential prison sentence of two years. He was then bailed with a return date to Winchester Police on May 24th.

His arrest sparked a national and international outcry in the media and in the political world.

16 million viewers watched Fox News’ panellists on “The Five” political talk show as they discussed the Paul Weston case. They remarked that in the UK a radical imam has more respect than a man who saved the Western world, and that “now Churchill is seen as another dead white male, and probably racist”.

Online, major websites such as FrontPage MagazineJihad WatchGates of Vienna and Vlad Tepes reported the news.

In the Dutch Parliament, MPs Geert Wilders and Raymond de Roon asked the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Frans Timmermans, a number of questions, such as “Do you share our opinion that the arrest of the politician Paul Weston is a gross violation of freedom of expression and an example of dhimmi [historically, subservient to Muslim rulers] behaviour? If not, why not?” and “How do you intend to wage the fight for the preservation of freedom of expression, in light of the planned rapprochement to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, an organization which aims for an international ban on blasphemy and which attempts to restrict freedom of expression in the West under the pretext of the fight against ‘Islamophobia’?”.

Hampshire Police has now communicated to Mr Weston:

“You were bailed on 26th April 2014, under the provision of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 in connection with an allegation of a breach of a S27 dispersal notice and a Racial/ Religious Aggravated Section 4 Public Order Offence. Police enquiries have now been completed and after careful consideration of all the circumstances, it has been decided that no further police action will be taken. However, if further significant evidence becomes available at a later date, the decision may be reconsidered and the advice of the Crown Prosecution Service sought.”

Ministers paid £1m to suspect ‘seen at al-Qaeda terror camp’

Questions are raised over why Feroz Abbasi was given payment for his time in Guantánamo when Whitehall officials were told he had been at an al-Qaeda training camp planning attacks on Jewish and American targets

Feroz Abbasi was captured in Afghanistan in 2001

The Government paid a suspected terrorist up to £1 million compensation even though Whitehall officials had been told that he had been at an al-Qaeda training camp planning attacks on Jewish and American targets.

Feroz Abbasi, who was captured by American forces in Afghanistan in 2001, was one of 16 detainees held at Guantánamo Bay who were paid £20 million in 2010 by the Government to settle claims of UK complicity in their rendition and detention.

Legal documents show that an al-Qaeda “supergrass” had informed security agencies in 2004 that Abbasi had been sent to Afghanistan by the extremist cleric Abu Hamza “to receive jihad training in support of al-Qaeda”.

Abbasi, 34, a former computer student from Croydon, south London, was captured in Afghanistan in 2001 and released from Guantánamo in 2005.

The documents raise concerns about why the UK was prepared to pay compensation to Abbasi when they had hard evidence that he had been at the heart of a terrorist organisation which was planning attacks on the West.

In the secret deal in 2010 between the detainees and the UK Government, both sides signed confidentiality agreements meaning the public may never know why so much money was paid out to the detainees.

UK is in desperate need of a restart button.

That’s what happens when your country doesn’t have a First Amendment type protection of free speech. And don’t kid yourselves, many Leftists in the US and elsewhere wish it didn’t exist, and are constantly assaulting it with this or that measure, under the false guise of ”protecting minority rights”.

Two women guilty of violating ‘Anti-Terrorism Act’: Ripped pages from Koran

Technically now terrorists …

While American jurisprudence has ruled that our free speech rights under the First Amendment range from publicly saying “I hate President (insert name here)” to defecating and/or urinating on the American flag. Agree, disagree or indifferent to what US courts have ruled, many Americans could find shocking not only the lack of free thought/speech imposed on our British cousins, but also the overt double-standard both police and the court system have been operating under. As reported by The Independent on May 2, 2014, and also Life Site News and The Daily Mail, both on May 1, 2014, case in point would be two Englishwomen who were recently found guilty of a “religiously-aggravated public order offence” for tearing pages out of the Qur’an; as well as a leading British politician arrested while reading select passages from The River War penned by arguably one of the greatest Western leaders of the 20th century, Sir Winston Spencer-Churchill, KG, OM, CH, TD, DL, FRS, RA.

Court Chairman Gordon Sayers of Birmingham Magistrates’ Court passed sentence on Julie Phillips, 50, and Gemma Parkin, 18, finding both guilty of “a religiously-aggravated public order offence” which technically could brand the duo as terrorists per British law (SECTION 4 – section 31(1)(a) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 as amended by the Anti-Terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001). The two were observed by local constables on Britain’s massive CCTV (closed circuit television) ripping pages out of a copy of the Qur’an and tossing them “‘like confetti’ while chanting racist songs about Muslims.”

The ardent fans of the Middlesbrough FC (Football Club), the two citizens were arrested at St. Andrew’s Stadium where their team was taking on the Manchester City Club. According to Court Prosecutor Amar Sanghara, the women were “also chanting words like ‘Muslim’, ‘Koran’ and ‘bayonet.'” Also testifying for the prosecution, Matthew Cornes, a member of the Orwellian named Security Response Team at the stadium, said:

There was shouting going on and singing, I don’t know the words but it was about the Koran and they mentioned Muslims as well.

The citizenry were never allowed to vote on the ripping up and dismembering of their society. Just open up your doors more widely, dig up your surroundings for them as they supplant your very existence.

Anger over plan to dig up 350,000 bodies in historic London cemetery for Muslim burial site

It is a peaceful resting place for 350,000 souls – an historic graveyard which now serves as a nature reserve.

But plans are afoot to dig up the ancient graves at Tower Hamlets Cemetery – and reopen it as a 21st century burial site.

Officially it would be known as a “multi-faith” cemetery but it is likely that it would principally answer calls for a Muslim graveyard in the largely-Asian East London borough.

The local newspaper has been bombarded with letters from historians and nature lovers declaring: “There is no way we’ll allow them to dig up our ancestors.”

But the Labour-controlled council’s environment spokesman Abdal Ullah appeared to be in no doubt about the feasibility of the plan when he said: “To preserve the respect and dignity for everyone, I think most of the graves would have to be cleared out and we’d start afresh.”

He said a corner of the cemetery would be reserved for Muslims who are buried in shrouds at a depth of 6ft and on their side facing Mecca.

By law, any graves more than 75 years old can be removed.

At the cemetery yesterday, liaison officer Ken Greenway – the only paid member of staff tending the 33-acre site – said he was astonished that anyone would even contemplate such a move.

“I’m against it and I have to stand up for that because of the huge value of this site today,” he added.

“It’s a beautiful haven for wildlife and people.”

Arrested while being English

UPDATE: SkyNews:

Tommy Robinson:

“They’re (police) saying it (Tower Hamlets) is a Muslim area but to me there is no Muslim area, there are just areas of my capital city that if I have to walk from A to B then you have to walk through.”
“Obviously I don’t want to get arrested and I don’t want to get in trouble so we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”

“Tommy and Kev, who had walked from Hyde Park, have been arrested at Aldgate, on the border of Tower Hamlets, which appears now officially a “no go zone” for natives.”

The organisers said that due to circumstances beyond their control, they have no choice but to cancel the event.
It was due to be held in St George’s Square tomorrow afternoon, with free entry, stalls, a marching band and choir.
A Luton Borough Council spokesperson said: “We had reserved St George’s Square for an Armed Forces Day event to take place on Saturday June 29 but this was cancelled by the organisers back in February before a firm booking was made.”
