German Government To ‘Create’ 100,000 Subsidised Migrant Jobs That ‘Pay’ Just €1 An Hour

The German government pressing ahead with plans to spend nearly half a billion Euros to ‘create’ 100,000 heavily subsidised jobs for unemployed migrants.

Desperate to better integrate the millions of migrants that have already arrived, and continue to roll into Europe in droves through the migrant crisis, socialist workforce minister Andrea Nahles has been working on the plan since last year. But now the so-called refugee jobs have been criticised by economists who say paying companies €450,000,000 to employ migrants is nothing more than a short term fix.

The German government is presently negotiating over the 2017 budget, but politicians are already calling for significant extra funding to be found for migrants in 2016.

Instead of requiring migrants to perform simple work in return for their state handouts, which includes housing, food, and pocket money, the new plan asks private companies to pay migrants €1 an hour for their labour, reports Welt. although exact plans have yet to be released, the wage would be likely topped up to the €8.50 minimum wage by government subsidy — a programme that is being called “occupational therapy” in Germany.

While German economists applauded efforts to integrate migrants into the job market as quickly as possible Marcel Fratzscher, head of the German Institute for Economic Research said “publicly funded job opportunities do not appear to be the right way to bring refugees to work”, reports Rheinische Post.

The image posted on his Twitter feed showed Jeremy Corbyn’s right-hand man had been paid £61,575 as an MP in 2014-15, and shelled out £14,253 to HM Revenue & Customs.

But the full document, slipped out much later on his website, showed that is not quite the whole story. McDonnell, who read from Chinese communist leader Chairman Mao’s Little Red Book in a House of Commons exchange with Chancellor George Osborne, also received a £14,421 pension from his days in local government.

Since the period covered by the return, he has been handed the 10 per cent MPs’ pay rise, taking his salary to £74,000 per year, and total income to £88,421.

And when he turns 65 in September, he will be entitled to the state pension of £8,000 per year, plus he’ll be sitting on a final-salary Commons pension pot worth up to £35,150 by that date.

So in the year the old Marxist finally retires, he could enjoy a total income of more than £100,000: comfortably enough to put him in the country’s despicable top 1 per cent.

He published his tax return at the end of last month as he challenged Osborne to be ‘open and transparent’ about his own income.

The move came after the Government’s agreement with U.S. tech giant Google to see the company pay £130 million in back taxes covering the past decade. Osborne hailed the deal a ‘major success’ despite disquiet among members of his party.

‘I published my full tax return . . . as I believe if you aspire to be in charge of the nation’s finances, you should be as open and transparent about your own income as possible,’ McDonnell said. ‘Hopefully, it will encourage George Osborne to release the details of his Google tax deal.’

Nick went with the line that we hear from the pro-EU establishment, including David Cameron, that Britain isn’t big enough to survive on the world stage as a self-governing, independent country. That how could we possibly hope to negotiate our own trade deals? I responded to Nick that this pessimistic mindset was absolutely ridiculous.

I pointed out that we are the fifth largest economy in the world and that Iceland, with a population of 320,000, had just signed a trade deal with China. I said if they were big enough to do this and if Switzerland had more free trade agreements than we did as EU members, I was absolutely certain that we too were big enough to strike these kind of exciting global trade deals outside of the EU.

But then something struck me.

I realised from the tone of Mr Clegg’s voice that what he actually meant was that he didn’t think we were good enough. Our pro-EU political class don’t think we are good enough to make our own laws, run our own country and to act in our own national interest. Rather than the UK negotiating our own trade deals with the interests of this country front and centre, the pro-EU establishment would rather that the EU do it on our behalf.

From indicative to conclusive. Western totalitarianism on the rise

When testing a substance using any kind of science, tests usually come in two categories, indicative and conclusive. Since this site began, we have been listing and discussing news events that were in the medium to high medium range of indicative that anything like democracy and freedom is on life support, if not dead in many Western nations, some of which, like England, are founders of the idea of democracy.

Before we can go forward you have to accept the premise which is that totalitarianism can work at either end or both ends of the user spectrum. You can more or less let people gather information as they want but they must outwardly process and present it in the official manner or face severe consequences. One example is how Soviet communism treated Darwinists. They felt that ‘Survival of the Fittest’ or ‘Natural Selection’ is too inherently, ‘free-market’ for their thinking and would punish anyone who did research in that field or agreed with it outwardly. You had to go with the official communist version of evolutionary biology, a form of Lysenkoism. The belief that life is created whenever and wherever the conditions for it, and communism, needed it to exist. This was the rational for wasting a ton of public resources and forced labour to plant wheat in Siberia. (Genuine science in the meantime produced men like Norman Borlaug who actually developed genetically modified strains of wheats and grains and corn that could in fact grow in hostile environments and now feeds one third of the Earth’s peoples)

The above of course is problematic because like Islam, communism operates on conclusion based reasoning. You must argue from a predetermined and politically motivated idea, which is set in law as axiomatic, and all deviation or alternatives, even if reason shows it to be cirrect, must be disallowed. And so we see in traditional, pre-information-age totalitarianism, people are punished for not reflecting the political axioms and abandoning reason except where it fits within the parameters of the political leaders.

But now we see a new approach. The addition of information controls where people may make decisions freely, or at least preserve the illusion of such, but the information they get is limited by the state so that all decisions are made within the state limited parameters. It feels like you are making your own decisions and forming your own opinions, but as the information you get must be of the official kind, your descisions and opinions are likely the state demanded ones, ormed by Using technology to limit what actual data may be obtained and then punishing those who break those limits with, for the moment, more socially oriented punishments. Loss of job, ostracism from your community. The destruction of your family due to loss of income or state benefits. England’s National Health Services, according to Mark Steyn’s excellent book ‘America Alone’, is the third largest employer in the world after the Chinese Army, and the Indian Rail company. So imagine if you add in security personnel, teachers and every other government employer how vulnerable the people of the United Kingdom and other semi-socialist European peoples are to the rapidly shifting winds of informational-totalitarianism.

A veteran Danish politician has been censured for tweeting about the Europe migrant crisis, receiving a fine from the high court for pointing out Muslim anti-Semitism.

Veteran Danish People’s Party (Dansk Folkpartei, DF) politician and retired parliamentarian Mogens Camre made the tweets in 2014 following the comments of the Israeli ambassador to Berlin that year, who compared the persecution of Jews by Muslims in Europe to the situation in 1938.

The offending tweets read: “Regarding the Jews’ situation in Europe: The Muslims are continuing where Hitler left off. Only the same treatment Hitler received will change the situation… forces in the Islamic world who threaten non-Muslims should be fought like Saddam Hussein, Bin Laden and Gadaffi were”.

So in Denmark, one of the few lights of freedom still flickering in the growing wind of totalitarianism, a Danish politician was fined for rebroadcasting the words of an Israeli official of something he said that was demonstrably factual and highly quantifiable. The fact that the Danish state punished him is frankly, as surprising that the Israeli diplomat said it, as Israel was quite susceptible to this PC disease as well.

Had he retweeted it in order to mock, scorn, or otherwise disagree with it, Im pretty confident he would have been left alone or rewarded. So it isn’t just the words, although sometimes it is, it is whether or not you are opposing the official narrative of Islam in the West. If indeed this is part of an overarching plan to reform islam by not ‘encouraging moderate muslims into ‘radicalism’, then the cure is no different than the disease and we may as well convert.

German Media ‘Are Subject to Strict Censorship, Restrictions’

German journalist and former director of the ZDF-studio Wolfgang Herles has accused German media of obedience to the country’s authorities. He argued that many media sources follow “instructions from above” and are a subject to strict censorship.

In an interview with German radio Deutschlandfunk, Herles said that German journalists are not free to choose the stories and the way they want to cover them. The country’s authorities put restrictions on many subjects and have forced the media to follow certain instructions, reminding the journalist of the times of Germany’s division.

John Cleese says that political correctness and fear of offending could lead to a 1984-style society.

The Monty Python star said he has now been advised not to perform on university campuses as the idea of political correctness has expanded so far that any kind of criticism is now seen as ‘cruel’.

Veteran comic Cleese said it is down to people who cannot control their emotions, so seek to control others, and worries that it could lead to a society like that in the iconic dystopian Orwell Novel.

He says: ‘If you start to think “ooh, we mustn’t criticise or offend them”, humour is gone, with humour goes a sense of proportion, and then as far as I’m concerned we’re living in 1984.’

Cleese, whose jokes about Germans and Spanish waiter Manuel in Fawlty Towers could well be considered offensive today, said that ‘all comedy is critical,’ in a video for The Big Think.

He explained how British newspapers offend him everyday with ‘laziness, nastiness and inaccuracy,’ but that he doesn’t expect someone to stop it happening, he simply speaks out about it.

A German proposal for a continent-wide fuel tax to help finance the absorption of migrants has won backing from the European commissioner for the euro, news magazine Spiegel reported Saturday.

Germany’s Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble had last week floated the idea of introducing a tax on petrol in Europe to help cover the costs of tackling the continent’s worst migration crisis since World War II.

“A fuel tax, at a national or European level, could be a possible source of financing, especially if you take into account petrol prices are at a historical low,” Valdis Dombrovskis told the magazine.

Gov’t hands over nearly 30 million to political parties

The government has distributed close to 30 million euros in subsidies to political parties to fund their political and communications activities for 2016. The Centre Party took the lion’s share of the pot, as it secured the highest number of seats in last year’s parliamentary elections.

The government announced Tuesday that it had shared out 29.6 million euros in subsidies to political parties represented in the Parliament. The financial support is intended to help bankroll the parties’ political, information and communications programmes for 2016.

The parties are expected to use five percent of the funding to support women’s political activities and another five percent for the activities of local party groups.

The funds have been distributed to correspond with the number of seats each parliamentary party won in the 2015 general election. This meant that Prime Minister Juha Sipilä’s Centre Party came away with some 7.2 million euros, while Timo Soini’s Finns Party received 5.6 million euros and Alexander Stubb’s National Coalition Party got 5.4 million euros.

Funding for the Social Democratic party was just over five million euros, with the Greens, Left Alliance, Swedish People’s Party and the Christian Democratic Party pocketing 2.2 million, 1.8 million, 1.3 million and 740,000 euros respectively.

The government has provided funding for political parties since 1967 and the Justice Ministry is responsible for monitoring how parties use the funds.


NOTE: That the political system here, as it is in the rest of Europe, has no primary system in which to challenge the status quo. That’s how they like it here, playing it safe, predictable and in their pocket.


We already have one of the highest gas prices in Europe, and he wants us to pay more in tax to fund the crisis that they themselves have created.

This goes to show just how much of a pseudo conservative (neo-statist) Alexander Stubb really is. Stubb says EU petrol tax to fund migrant crisis worth considering, Soini says no way

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble has proposed that an extra levy on petrol should be enforced throughout the European Union to fund the refugee crisis and enforce Schengen’s external borders. Finland’s Finance Minister Alexander Stubb says the idea merits consideration, while the Foreign Minister Timo Soini flatly rejects any semblance of an EU-imposed tax.

Finland’s Minister of Finance Alexander Stubb of the centre-right National Coalition Party says he is open to the proposal of his German counterpart to introduce an EU-wide petrol tax, adding that he considers the idea to be more of a conversation starter and not an actual presentation. He says the idea is worth considering, even if it would be difficult to implement.

“For two reasons, basically: first, because no one wants to raise tax rates right now and second, because tax issues are largely the prerogative of individual nations at present. This would be a new kind of EU tax,” Stubb said.

The German leader has suggested that adoption of the extra levy on petrol would be voluntary among the EU Member States. Would Finland be ready to join Minister Schäuble’s “coalition of the willing”?

“At this stage, I feel the proposition is problematic from Finland’s point of view, but I don’t want to condemn the idea flat out because we must continuously be on the lookout for creative solutions to resolve the crisis. We must leave room for discussion of every suggestion,” Stubb said.

Soini: Internal EU budget transfers, not taxes

Foreign Minister Timo Soini of the EU-sceptic Finns Party dismisses Schäuble’s idea of an EU-dictated tax out of hand, as determination of tax policy is outside of the European Union’s scope. He says Finland should under no circumstances take part in the proposed coalition.

“I would hold it as a very poor and serious precedent. Granting the EU the right to impose taxes would only lead step by step to more taxes. Tax matters should be left for national governments to decide,” Soini said.

Finance Minister Stubb estimates that Schäuble’s proposal is closely linked to both Turkey’s financial needs and Greece’s insecure borders.

“Schäuble probably wanted to bring up the fact that there is an acute need for funding and that something should be done about it, because there has been no progress,” he said.

Minister Soini says the EU’s external borders should be fortified with money from the EU budget.

“The matter should be addressed with an internal transfer of EU funds, in other words, by cutting subsidies from other areas. Cohesion funds could be the subject of critical examination, for example. Another option is to take on debt, but I don’t recommend that,” Soini said.

No money left

Finance Minister Stubb says the European Union’s budgetary resources are currently exhausted, so the money to address the migrant crisis won’t be coming from that arena.

He says the EU petrol tax was one of several ideas briefly discussed late last week at meetings of the Eurogroup and the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN), composed of economics and finance ministers from the 28 EU Member States. Stubb did not attend the meetings because he had the flu.

Germany’s finance minister has floated the idea of a European tax on petrol as a means of dealing with the on-going migrant crisis.

Wolfgang Schaeuble told Geman media on Saturday: “If the funds in national budgets and the European budget aren’t enough, then let’s agree, for example, to raise a levy on every liter of gasoline at a certain level.”

The conservative politician made remarks as part of wider comments about the need for European countries to pull their weight with regards to the influx of people escaping war or searching for a better life.

He mentioned the New Years Eve mass sexual assaults on women in Cologne that have been largely blamed on Arab and North African men and argued that they illustrated the need to “step up the pressure” to find “a solution to the problem of controlling the European Union’s external borders.”

He said: “The problem must be solved at a European level, otherwise, it won’t just be Germany that suffers the consequences, as some seem to think, but our neighbours will be massively affected too, as will the Balkans, and all the way down to Greece.

“Things are moving too slowly in Europe.”

Study: Over half the population supports basic income scheme

A new study finds that over half of Finns back the idea of an unconditional universal basic income scheme, whereby Finnish citizens would regularly receive a certain sum of money from the government.

According to a recent survey conducted by the Foundation for Municipal Development, 51 percent of Finnish respondents support the idea of a basic income provided to all citizens of Finland. Just 23 percent indicated their opposition, with the rest undecided.

The clear majority, 68 percent, believe that a basic income from the government would make it easier to start a business, and would also mitigate the financial difficulties after the fact, if the business failed to succeed. Support for the idea came from all segments of the population, but the most backing came from entrepreneurs, the unemployed and students.

A further 63 percent of respondents were of the opinion that a basic income scheme would dismantle the bureaucracy associated with the current social welfare system. 60 percent said the move would no doubt simplify the current means-tested system of benefits.

Party feuding and disincentive

More than two-thirds of respondents, 69 percent, predict that determining the amount of basic income awarded would become a source of permanent disagreement between the country’s political parties. Every second respondent also feared the egalitarian system would encourage more lethargy among the people. Respondents with this concern were more likely than not to support the populist Finns Party or the centre-right National Coalition Party (NCP).

When analysed by party allegiance, most of the supporters of a basic income tended to adhere to the Left Alliance and Green parties. Respondents that opposed the idea supported the NCP the most.

The survey was conducted by the TNS Gallup polling firm in late November-early December 2015. Over 1,100 respondents participated, making the margin of error three percentage points in either direction.

A pilot project only

Finland’s current government has included exploration of a basic income option in its government programme. France and the Netherlands join Finland in experimenting with basic income pilots in the coming years, and Switzerland is scheduled to hold a referendum on the topic in 2016.

Several international media sources jumped the gun in late 2015, reporting that Finland was boldly introducing a basic income scheme across the board. Finland will actually begin the government-funded experiment in 2017 and preliminary plans suggest targeting a small but statistically significant group.

The government has commissioned Kela, the national social insurance provider, to study the concept, calculate the costs, and run a two-year experiment to judge the feasibility of rolling it out across the country. The results will be evaluated in 2019.

The basic income would roughly be the size of Finland’s current basic assistance intended to cover food, personal hygiene, clothing and other daily expenses (about 600 euros per month in 2016), replacing all minimum social welfare benefits.

It would be granted free of charges and tax-free, and the amount would not diminish as wages increased. The benefit it offers would likely be negated in taxation, however, if the recipient’s salary exceeded a certain level.

Tony Blair and former ministers have been banned from staying for free at British embassies and using diplomats to help carry out their private commercial work, the Telegraph can disclose.

The Foreign Office said it wanted to prevent the “inappropriate use” of government staff and resources and avoid the perception abroad that such figures were representing the UK Government.

Instead, ex-ministers will only be able to make use of embassies and staff if they are working on official business.

Forget about primaries, they want closed lists as well.

One the one hand, the importance of limiting a politician to serving in only one elected position at a time, should be obvious to even the least interested, but it would need to be coupled with term limits as well in order to stop politicians developing a career out of public service (self aggrandizement is a powerful lure).

What’s most troublesome in the ”electoral system shake up” is the suggestion that parties will have more control over the candidates people will be able to vote for. Already they exact an amazing amount of control over their parties. They pick who can run for election, exert a top down ”play by the rules or you’re out” mentality in parliamentary votes, and there is no primary system as in the American model by which the people can seek to exert control of (or at least challenge) the party.

This closed list system further removes the people from decision making processes. Not only are they be able to field candidates of their choosing, but the people’s vote only goes towards the party itself, they themselves choose who makes it into parliament. It’s a monopoly of the electoral system. Tyranny. I have a feeling that that is exactly the reason why it’s being proffered.

Government looks to shake up electoral system

Finland could be set to change the electoral system, moving from a candidate-based election to a closed list system where parties have more power to decide who gets elected. The debate was prompted by a new tier of regional government to be introduced—and elected—as part of a reform of health and social care.

Elections to a new regional body set to be introduced as part of a health and social care reform could force a shake-up in Finland’s electoral system. The Justice Ministry has produced a background document on electoral systems that has been sent to parties for comments.

At present municipal and parliamentary elections are candidate-based, where people cast their votes for a candidate first and foremost. The candidates are ranked within their party list based on the number of votes they receive, and seats are distributed based on the total support received by the party or list.

The closed list system allows parties to determine the order of their candidates in advance, asking voters to select a party slate to vote for without having any input into which candidates within the list might make it through.

With new bodies set to be created and elected to implement the social and health care reform, the current government is taking the opportunity to look at all Finnish elections with fresh eyes.

Open discussion

“I hope that in the coming weeks we’ll have an open discussion and not just assume that candidate elections are best,” said Municipalities and Reform Minister Anu Vehviläinen. “If we make such a radical change to our electoral system, it would be good to consider every election at the same time. To consider which if any of our current elections might suit a list-based system.”

In the coming months the government is set to decide how the new bodies will be elected, including whether or not individuals should face limits on running for election to different bodies. At present people are able to sit as local councillors, MPs and MEPs all at the same time.

“There’s quite a big threshold in Finland for limiting a person’s rights to participate,” says Vehviläinen. “At least up to now it’s been a sacred principle that people can run in every election and the voters will decide who is elected. We should consider whether we want to limit that right.”

The new provincial elections will either be held in autumn 2017 or early 2018, in conjunction with the first round of that year’s presidential election.



The first primary concern and focus of any government is the security of the citizen.

When people get short shrifted because their money (yes, their money) is sent abroad to others who did nothing to earn that money, then yes, there is great room for justified anger. If people want to be ‘noble’ with their cash, they’re free to send it where they wish, but not the money of others.

Here’s a good reason against the welfare state mentality if there ever was one. Without the welfare state (which means big government/centralization of concentrated power) none of this could be happening. The sending of billions abroad as well as the inundation of multitudes of unassimilable people from 3rd world backwaters is the hallmark of statism.

It’s the removing of representational government from the hands of the citizenry, elections are held, but the circle of individual liberty (which property rights form of crucial functional basis) shrinks with each day’s passing.

The scenes of misery across Yorkshire and Lancashire triggered outrage last night over Britain sqaundering cash on foreign aid. Residents asked why they had been told there was no money for local flood defences when £12billion a year is spent on overseas aid – including, it emerged yesterday, £1billion to the 20 most corrupt nations. EU diplomats familiar with the situation say that such a lack of resources will also mean that an independent EU border patrol is a long way off. Beyond that, there are legal hurdles. And it is also unclear whether member states will give up sovereignty to a central authority in Brussels. Some five member states have signaled serious reservations. One EU diplomat in Brussels prophesied, “Years will pass before this thing flies.”

EU wants centralized policing powers for its borders

The EU’s external borders have more holes than a block of Swiss cheese. That is why the European Commission now wants its own border police. Not all member states like the idea. Bernd Riegert reports from Brussels.

Until now, member states alone were responsible for protecting the European Union’s borders. They placed great value in that fact, as the control of borders is one of the fundamental responsibilities of a sovereign state.

The European Commission wants to change that.

In September, prompted by the chaotic refugee situation on the EU’s external borders – especially in Greece, Croatia and Italy – EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker began calling for the creation of a new EU border and coast guard force with far reaching powers. At one of their many refugee and migration summits this fall, most heads of state and government voted to accept the plan in principle.

There was no public mass movement that I can recall demanding more regulations on candle safety, so you can bet your bottom euro that lobbyists for big (crony) business were successful in getting this pushed through at the expense of their competition.

NEW EU Regulations Dictate Height, Stability, And Support Structures Acceptable For… Candles

The European Union’s (EU) member states have voted to enter the essential business of candle regulation, just in time for the Christmas tradition of lighting Advent Candles. The new EU regulations dictate safety standards controlling the height, stability, and acceptable support structures for candles. 

A four page document sets out the new rules “to be met by European standards for candles, candle supports, containers and accessories pursuant to Directive 2001/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on general product safety.”

Essential rules without which the continent could not function include:

  • “The safety of the product shall not rely on complicated user procedures”
  • “Free-standing candles or candles supplied with a holder or container shall remain stable (e.g. not tip over) during burning”
  • “Materials used in or on candles and candle supports, containers and accessories shall not spread or create a secondary flame at any stage during the normal burning of a candle or during its final extinction”
  • “The presentation and illustration of the product as well as any information provided shall not play down risks to any potential user”

Specifically, what looks to be regulation targeted at Advent Candles, or indeed the Jewish menorah, the document dictates common sense policies such as:

  • ‘Never leave a burning candle unattended.’
  • ‘Burn candle out of the reach of children and pets.’
  • ‘Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire.’

Described as “new Brussels madness just before Christmas” by German website Focus, and illustrated with the headline, “Fire is a Fire Hazard” by one local paper – eurosceptics will finally be able to move on from deriding cucumber length and apple size regulation. Get ready to hear all about the specific safety requirements for candles during the British referendum on European Union membership.
