Abused by rapist then by Islam.

A 15-year-old rape victim has been sentenced to 100 lashes for engaging in premarital sex, court officials said.
The charges against the girl were brought against her last year after police investigated accusations that her stepfather had raped her and killed their baby. He is still to face trial.
Prosecutors said her conviction did not relate to the rape case.
Amnesty International condemned the punishment as “cruel, degrading and inhumane”.
The government said it did not agree with the punishment and that it would look into changing the law.
Zaima Nasheed, a spokesperson for the juvenile court, said the girl was also ordered to remain under house arrest at a children’s home for eight months.
Islam is the most widespread anti-female ideology in existence.

A teenage girl who says she was repeatedly raped by her step-father and that he killed her baby could be flogged for having sex with another man.
Police in the Maldives say they found evidence of consensual ‘fornication’ while they investigated the rape accusations.
Now the the 15-year-old victim faces a punishment of flogging under the country’s strict Islamic law, according to AFP.
Her step-father is accused of repeatedly raping her and then murdering a baby he fathered and her mother has been charged with helping dispose of the body.
Despite this, the child is being investigated for having consensual extra-marrital sex, which is a crime in the tropical island destination.
If convicted she could be publically flogged when she reaches the age of 18.
Maldivian police spokesman Hassan Haneef told AFP: ‘We completed the investigation (into the murder of the infant) and gave a report to the prosecutor general’s office’.
Just like the Taliban in Afghanistan did with the giant statues of Buddha, NOW YOU SEE IT, NOW YOU DON’T.

MALE — At the Maldives’ National Museum, smashed Buddhist statues are testament to the rise of Islamic extremism and Taliban-style intolerance in a country famous as a laid-back holiday destination.
On Tuesday, as protesters backed by mutinous police toppled president Mohamed Nasheed, a handful of men stormed the Chinese-built museum and destroyed its display of priceless artefacts from the nation’s pre-Islamic era.
“They have effectively erased all evidence of our Buddhist past,” a senior museum official told AFP at the now shuttered building in the capital Male, asking not to be named out of fear for his own safety.
“We lost all our 12th century statues. They were made of coral stone and limestone. They are very brittle and there is no way we can restore them,” he explained.
“I wept when I heard that the entire display had gone. We are good Muslims and we treated these statues only as part of our heritage. It is not against Islam to display these exhibits,” he said.
More coups in Muslim land.
The money quote:
Disparately minded opposition parties eyeing position for next year’s poll found common ground against Nasheed amid the constitutional crisis and protests, and had begun adopting hardline rhetoric to criticize his Islamic credentials. The country is wholly Sunni Muslim.
MALE (AL-Reuters) – The Maldives, one of the world’s most renowned tourist destinations, installed a new president after the man credited with bringing democracy to the Indian Ocean islands resigned, apparently under military pressure following a police mutiny.
His party called it a bloodless coup.
On Wednesday, just 24 hours after police joined opposition protesters in attacking the military headquarters and seizing the state TV station, the streets of the capital island, Male, were calm as people went to work and children to school.
The political tumult, like most of everyday Maldivian life, was far from the tourists who stream to the chain of desert islands, seeking sun-and-sand paradise at luxury resorts that can command $1,000 a night.
Former President Mohamed Nasheed resigned on Tuesday and was later freed from military custody. His deputy, Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik, was sworn in by the speaker of the People’s Majlis, or parliament.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in a statement he hoped the “handover of power, which has been announced as a constitutional step to avoid further violence and instability, will lead to the peaceful resolution of the political crisis that has polarized the country.”
Nasheed’s order to the military to arrest a judge, whom he accused of blocking multi-million dollar corruption cases against members of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s government, set off three weeks of opposition protests that peaked with Tuesday’s police revolt.
“FORCED TO RESIGN”
In the end, elements of the same military marched him into his own office to order his own resignation, a close aide told Reuters in the first witness account of Nasheed’s exit.
“The gates of the president’s office swung open and in came these unmarked vehicles we’ve never seen before and Nasheed came out with around 50 soldiers around him, and senior military men we’d never seen before,” said Paul Roberts, Nasheed’s communications adviser.
Another industry shot to hell due to Islam.
The more a society is Islamized (meaning = in touch with its inner mohamed) the more intolerant and anti-modern it becomes. Just what exactly, is anything Western that’s not un-Islamic? KGS
The Maldives government has called for luxury resorts to close their spas in response to angry protests led by opposition groups that have demanded the country end “anti-Islamic” activities in the country.
The small islands nation’s presidential office said on Friday that the “the government has decided to close massage parlors and spas in the Maldives, following an opposition-led religious protest last week calling for their closure.”
The tourism ministry has yet to issue a statement over the matter, but officials according to local news sources said that the ministry has been notified by the president’s office of the decision.
The Indian Ocean archipelago with 1,192 tiny coral islands is known for its expensive and exquisite resorts. Many of the resorts often are featured on travel shows for their beauty and high-end spas.
Last week, thousands protested in the country calling on the government to stop what they called “anti-Islamic” activities.
Sunni Islam is the official religion in the Maldives and practicing any other faith is forbidden.
Last week’s protest was called by the opposition Adhaalat, or Justice, Party and several other groups that accuse President Mohammed Nasheed’s government of compromising principles of Islam and want strict Islamic law.
Yet another ‘Islam only’ state, and who is making any noise over the fact that they practice religious cleansing, making sure that Islam, nothing but Islam is allowed to be practiced. HRW and Amnesty International are now mounting a high profile campaign against the Maldives to get them to honor all religions……..not. KGS
A special Christmas promotion aimed at foreigners at a Maldivian restaurant got the restaurant owners into deep trouble.
Islam is the official religion in Maldives and constitutionally, there is only place for Sunni Muslims; practice of other religions is prohibited. Display of other religious symbols attracts police action.
In this case, the restaurant was decorated for Christmas with items related to the celebration.
This led to protests from religious groups such as the Adhaalath Party and the Islamic Foundation of the Maldives, which led to the arrest of one restaurant employee, the independent Maldivian newspaper Minivan News reported.
“Some people gathered and protested against the decorations, because it was like celebrating Christmas,” police spokesman Ahmed Shiyam told AFP. Mr. Shiyam added one restaurant employee was taken in for questioning on Tuesday and later released.
The offending streamers were quickly removed.
